Job Summary

 

The Aesthetician will deliver exceptional skincare and spa treatments with the highest level of professionalism, personalized care, and outstanding hospitality to spa guests. You will actively contribute to the company’s goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values, while enhancing the overall guest experience.

In this role, you will provide expert skincare and body treatments to guests, VIPs, and press, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of various techniques, including lymphatic drainage modalities. Your treatments will align with hotel brand standards, ensuring exceptional client care, cleanliness, and grooming. A key responsibility is to learn product and service protocols to offer personalized wellness solutions that meet guest needs.

Additionally, you will support revenue generation through retail sales, upselling, and cross-selling other spa services. Assisting the Head/Principal Therapist in maintaining adherence to operational procedures, codes of conduct, and standards by all therapists is also an integral part of the role.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

§ Responsible for achieving retail sales targets as set by the Director

§ Ensure aftercare recommendations are made at the end of every treatment, linking with client concerns and offering to prepare products at reception for purchase

§ Encourage clients to return to the spa by recommending an ongoing treatment program and cross selling the other business centers in the spa.   Maintain a sound knowledge of all treatments, packages and any promotions

§ Participate in demonstrations/ events as required

§ Ensure that daily sales figures are accurately recorded

§ Assist Head/Principal Therapist in monitoring therapist target and provide motivation and training where necessary

§ Perform treatment for VIPs and journalists as required and to the highest standard

§ Support the Head/Principal Therapist by helping with Therapist roster, stock control, stock takes and orders as requested

§ Responsible for providing treatments for VIPs and journalists, representing designated lines and the Hotel as Ambassadors of the spa

§ Assist the Head/Principal Therapist in maintaining the cleanliness, sterilization and hygiene of all equipment, products and linens in the treatment and preparation area, following protocols and LSOPs.

§ Set an example to all therapist in daily work, professionalism and standard

§ Responsible for motivation of therapist and to report to the Head/Principal Therapist on the ambience of the team at any given time

§ To constantly evaluate where additional small touches can be added to create memories and 5 star experiences for the guests  

§ To record all training conducted and prepare an attendance sheet for each training session

§ To be fully aware of the daily bookings schedule and to keep updated with any changes at the reception on a continual basis throughout the day

§ Perform all treatments at an exceptional standard, as per protocols and standards taught in training, whilst tailoring to the client’s specific needs

§ Update own knowledge of products and treatment brand standards, outside of formal trainings  

§ Carry out an in-depth consultation with each client prior to treatment, ensuring medical history and concerns are identified

§ Protect the guest experience by moving quietly around the treatment room and in corridors.

§ Protect confidentiality at all times including personal data, medical details and any information provided in confidence by the client

§ Use the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer/Principal Therapist and not exceed that amount.

§ Maintain linen and product levels in the treatment rooms, ensuring trolleys are stocked, clean and organized as per the spa standards

§ Follow treatment room opening and closing procedures correctly, reporting any maintenance issues to the Duty Manager

§ Performing opening and closing treatment room checks-cleanliness, hygiene, room set up, stock levels and maintenance checks

§ Provide a warm welcome to clientele whilst striving to provide outstanding service

§ Maintain the highest standard of guest service by following protocols and displaying genuine care and attention to detail

§ Consistently record guest preferences, accurately updating guest profile and communicating any relevant information to colleagues

§ Ensure confidentiality at all times including data protection, medical details and any information provided in confidence by the client

§ Report any guest complaints to the duty Manager so that they can be handled promptly and effectively.

§ Perform all the treatment in a professional, hygienic and safe manner for all clients, updating knowledge and training regularly

§ Day to day responsibility for equipment, products, cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment and preparation areas.

§ Attend training on all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards

§ Act responsibly at all times in relation to personal safety along with the safety of colleagues and guests of the spa

§ Support the Spa Attendants/Receptionists where required in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the spa facilities

§ Maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as laid down by the Spa Director

§ Always be punctual and prepared in advanced of treatment

§ Support all departments in the spa including covering reception and spa attendant duties as and when required

§ Must adhere to training as set down by the Head/Principal Therapist and attend all training courses as deemed necessary by Kerzner International

§ To perform any additional duties as may require by the management 

 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

§ Fluent in both written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is a valuable asset.

§ Completion of 650 hours of aesthetician training at a state-approved school, with a valid state-issued license or transferred state-approved license.

§ A minimum of three years of professional experience in the aesthetics field.

§ In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

§ Extensive expertise in facial technologies.

§ Strong understanding of various aesthetic treatments, including Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, LED Light Therapy, Hydra Dermabrasion, Ultrasonic Therapy, Radiofrequency, High-Frequency, Cold Therapy, Oxygen Therapy, and Dermaplaning.

§ Previous experience working in a luxury five-star resort or spa (at least two years).

§ Comprehensive understanding of massage therapies and a variety of face and body treatments.

§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

§ Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment.

§ Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

§ Ability to handle guest complaints in a professional and effective manner.

§ Strong leadership skills, including the ability to conduct training for other therapists.

§ Proficient in operating basic office equipment.

§ Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
