Job Summary 

The Attendant, Spa & Fitness is responsible for delivering an exceptional Forbes Five-Star guest experience by maintaining the presentation, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the spa and wellness facilities. This guest-facing role ensures that locker rooms, hydrothermal amenities, relaxation lounges, fitness areas, and treatment support spaces are impeccably maintained while providing warm, personalized service throughout each guest's wellness journey. 

 

Working closely with therapists, reception, engineering, and housekeeping, the Attendant, Spa & Fitness anticipates guest needs, replenishes amenities, monitors facility operations, and creates a welcoming environment that reflects the luxury standards of One&Only. 

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcome, orient, and guide guests, escorting guests through the Wellness facilities 

  • Explain hydrothermal experiences and wellness amenities.  

  • Handle guest requests and concerns professionally.  

  • Maintain locker rooms, lounges, fitness center, movement studio, and hydrothermal areas.  

  • Restock robes, towels, slippers, beverages, and amenities.  

  • Maintain water, infused water, tea, and fruit stations.  

  • Ensure all public areas meet Forbes Five-Star presentation standards.  

  • Monitor steam rooms, saunas, cold plunge, pools, and fitness equipment.  

  • Report maintenance concerns to management 

  • Assist with opening, closing, and daily operational checklists.  

  • Maintain inventory and storerooms.  

  • Prepare treatment rooms as needed.  

  • Support therapists with linen and supply replenishment.  

  • Maintain cleanliness between services. 

  • Monitor guest safety.  

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Wellness or other members of management

 

Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality, business, wellness, or a related field preferred. 

  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel, resort, spa, fitness center, or guest service environment preferred.  

  • Forbes Five-Star or comparable luxury hospitality experience is an asset.  

  • Passion for delivering warm, genuine, and personalized guest experiences.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently welcome, orient, and escort guests.  

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to impeccable cleanliness, organization, and facility presentation.  

  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond with professionalism, discretion, and urgency.  

  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, sanitation procedures, and workplace health and safety standards.  

  • Ability to monitor spa amenities and hydrothermal facilities and promptly identify maintenance, cleanliness, or safety concerns.  

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities throughout the shift.  

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative Spa & Fitness team.  

  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, emotional intelligence, and sound judgment.  

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn resort operating systems as required. 

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods.

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:   

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling
  • Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
