Job Summary
The Bastien Therapist (BT)/Nail Technician is a highly skilled professional specializing in all treatments, including the signature Bastien’s Pedicure and Manicure, while demonstrating exceptional retail expertise. This role is responsible for maintaining studio standards and providing foundational training to Bastien beauticians. With a strong focus on guest interaction, the BT recommends treatments, manages bookings, performs services, and suggests products. Additionally, the BT independently oversees the entire guest journey, ensuring a seamless, personalized experience from start to finish.
KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Execution & Product Knowledge
- Deliver all treatments with precision, professionalism, and adherence to brand standards.
- Educate guests on product benefits and provide personalized recommendations.
- Maintain service quality by following established protocols and ensuring consistency.
- Ensure accurate and consistent communication across all departments regarding treatments and offerings.
- Present, explain, and promote products effectively to drive retail sales.
- Regularly inspect product displays—both professional and retail—for cleanliness, organization, and expiration dates.
Operational Excellence
- Adhere to the assigned schedule, arriving on time and fully prepared for duties.
- Master and uphold all operational standards, from setups to pantry organization.
- Maintain impeccable grooming and professional appearance, setting a high standard for the team.
- Foster a positive, service-driven attitude with both guests and colleagues.
Studio Representation & Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Represent the Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio with excellence, promoting treatments and products throughout the resort.
- Strengthen collaboration with other departments to maximize bookings and promotional opportunities.
Financial Awareness & Stock Management
- Monitor daily stock levels for professional and retail products, informing the podiatrist/Manager on Duty of replenishment needs.
Guest and Team Communication
- Maintain and update the guest database for personalized service and future engagements.
- Ensure resort colleagues are well-informed about the studio’s offerings and brand identity.
- Actively participate in daily team meetings to align goals and service expectations.
- Handle all guest and operational information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the spa management team to support operations and guest satisfaction.

- Be flexible with various hours as we begin and establish our rhythm; during slower periods, you may be required to participate in guest engagement activities (e.g., complimentary mini treatments, tours, etc.).
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
§ Proficient in both written and spoken English; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
§ Completed 350 hours of nail technician training at an accredited institution and holds a valid state-issued license or an equivalent transferred license.
§ Knowledgeable in foot and leg anatomy.
§ Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role at a five-star spa or resort.
§ Strong customer service skills with excellent interpersonal and social abilities.
§ Demonstrates a positive, proactive attitude.
§ Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly, welcoming personality.
§ Proficient in managing and processing software.
§ Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment.
§ Skilled in public speaking, word processing, and written communication.
§ Experienced in managing difficult situations with guests in a professional manner.
§ Proficient in document processing, computer skills, and database management, including Microsoft Office products.
§ Ability to operate basic office equipment.
§ Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
