Job Summary

The Counsellor, Kids Only is responsible for the direct supervision of Kids Only attendees, ensuring that programming is delivered to a consistently high standard of service. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of assigned groups of children, ensuring their safety, security, and overall well-being at all times
• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate programming through enthusiasm, showmanship, presentation, and entertainment
• Lead a variety of recreational, educational, and cultural programs, activities, and excursions for children
• Engagement children in all aspects of the programming, including fitness, arts and crafts, games, and other experiences
• Provide exceptional guest service through professional and positive interactions with parents and children
• Communicate any concerns, incidents, or challenges to the Assistant Manager, Kids Only or another relevant member of management
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Kids Only

Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a similar environment, such as a summer camp, after-school program, childcare setting, or other youth-focused environment
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with individuals of all ages
• Energetic, ethusiastic, and engaging personality, with a genuine interest in working with children

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:   

• Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling
• Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds
• Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
