Job Summary
The Director of Revenue Management is responsible to execute the implementation of the strategic long-term Total Revenue plan into actionable results that directly affect properties’ performance for Rooms, Food and Beverage, Recreation, Spa, Retail and other Revenue Centers. The DORM supervises the operations of the Revenue and Reservations departments, internal and external communication, team support, motivation, and ensuring that all financial targets are reached. Directs the Revenue Management and Reservations teams to proactively and cost effectively maximizes all opportunities to increase Total Hotel Revenues, RevPAR / RevPAS / RevPASH, System Delivery with a target of becoming RGI market leader. Identify all opportunities to find the right price for the right customer at the right time via the right channel. Fully utilize available tools and systems to maximize all revenue streams of the One&Only Moonlight Basin. Apply all facets of pricing, demand analysis, yield management, market segmentation, business mix, selling strategies and tactics in accordance with worldwide best practices.  Conduct and implement revenue management strategies throughout the resort. Operate in a matrix management environment to support the overall goals of other departments, with a focus on increasing revenues and RGI position. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities
•    Further develop the distribution platform for One&Only Moonlight Basin (but not limited to): Identify best solution for CRS / GDS Ensure available technology (PMS & CRS, RMS/ E-channels and GDS) is fully utilized and understood according to property specific business mix and requirements
•    Ensure optimal use, and measure performance on all distribution channels, to ensure that fair market share is achieved if not surpassed, e.g. OO.com, GDS, and e-channels
•    Assist the Sales & Marketing Team in devising marketing campaigns, to ensure that the Hotel reaches the right people, at the right time, in the right place
•    Ensure optimal use of revenue management and reservations systems
•    Monitor competitor availability and pricing daily, using all available tools such as Industry Reports, Internet, Ring Around, Dummy Bookings etc.., and subsequently analyze & report actual performance versus competitive set
•    Implement pricing strategies, yield strategies, selling strategies and revenue management best practices.  Investigate and communicate new ways to capture optimal revenue potentials
•    Develop & implement rationally related pricing structures for Direct, Wholesale, Groups & Corporate with cohesive synergies between the segments
•    Understand the dynamics of the Global, National, Regional & Local Political and Economic Market, local Competitors and all demand generators for the destination
•    Carry out analysis of Booking Patterns & Market Trends and ensure that these are recorded to facilitate future decisions
•    Evaluate rate strategy daily with findings and recommendations daily
•    Identify and propose the hotel pricing strategy by market segment with reference to market intelligence, buying patterns and pre-determined seasonality
•    To identify and propose tactical offers to generate incremental revenues
•    To prepare and review weekly accurate 3 months forecast for hotel rooms revenue by Market Segment/Day
•    To prepare and analyze monthly accurate 12 months forecast for hotel rooms revenue by Market Segment/Day
•    To prepare and analyze revenue month end reporting including critique, findings and strategy actions
•    Prepare in the production of the hotels annual budget and to assist in the creation, update and evaluation of the hotel Strategy Plan
•    To prepare a weekly Revenue / Sales & Marketing Strategy Meeting. Collate and distribute meeting minutes of notes on forecast and strategy changes, including weekly action plan
•    To ensure all standards and processes and procedures for Revenue Management are followed
•    Conduct annual revenue management audits for all revenue generating departments
•    Develop revenue management processes across all business units at One&Only Moonlight Basin
•    Set monthly targets of up selling revenue for front office and reservations department
•    Maintaining high standards of data quality through system maintenance and audits
•    Ensure daily/weekly/monthly reporting to the regional/corporate office is adhered to in a timely manner
•    Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly tasks are completed by the revenue team
•    Liaise with Sales and Marketing to ensure all promotion / programs are fully understood and right for the business
•    Assist in Recruitment & Selection into the Revenue and Reservations departments
•    Ensure an effective Training & Development Calendar is in place & adhered to, that all Team members have a Personal Development Plan and clearly defined objectives, and that a Succession Plan exists within the department
•    Train and support hotel teams on all revenue and reservations systems functionality and enhancements
•    Develops and maintains strong and effective relationships with Competitor Counter-parts, Industry & Business community & at hotel level 
•    Any other duties or tasks as directed by the General Manager or Hotel Manager that assist and support hotel operations

 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements  
•    5 years in similar position in 5-star hospitality
