Job Summary
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for leading and managing both the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments in a highly efficient and effective manner. This role oversees all staffing requirements to ensure seamless operations that meet business demands, while ensuring all staff members deliver the highest level of service in accordance with One&Only brand standards. A key contributor to the overall guest and colleague experience, the Executive Housekeeper ensures that Guest Rooms (GRs), Public Areas (PAs), and Heart-of-House (HoH) spaces are consistently cleaned, sanitized, and impeccably presented at all times.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operations

Lead the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments, ensuring compliance with Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) guidelines, One&Only brand standards, and guest expectations

Ensure all GRs, PAs, and HoH spaces are consistently cleaned, sanitized, and well-presented

Monitor departmental performance, evaluate working standards, and implement corrective actions as needed

Benchmark housekeeping practices against competitor hotels to maintain a competitive edge

Oversee the operations of the Laundry and Uniform Rooms

Implement a defined decorating program that maintains design integrity

Collaborate with the General Manager and/or Resort Manager on renovation and remodeling projects

Manage the retrieval, safekeeping, and return of lost and found items in accordance with company policies and procedures

Represent hotel leadership professionally in all internal and external interactions, including with guests, vendors, contractors, competitors, and other key stakeholders
Safety, Health, & Compliance

Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations, fostering a culture of responsibility, accountability, and care

Reduce workplace incidents by promoting and enforcing safety best practices

Ensure all staff are trained in emergency protocols, including fire evacuation procedures
People Management

Recruit, train, and manage Housekeeping and Laundry teams to support a high-performing, guest-focused operation

Conduct daily line-up meetings to share key updates, guest feedback, important policies, and performance goals

Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful working environment within the department and across other departments to strengthen overall morale
Financial Management

Assist with preparing the annual department budget with a focus on cost control

Responsible for annual linen requisitions, as well as other departmental purchasing

Maintain accurate purchase records, ensuring adherence to budget requirements

Manage departmental labor costs in line with financial objectives
Administration

Complete all departmental documentation, reports, and correspondence accurately and punctually

Coordinate preventative maintenance programs with the Director, Facilities to ensure operational readiness
Other

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, Rooms or other members of the Management team
Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in housekeeping within an upscale hotel or resort setting
- Previous experience working within a 5-star luxury hotel or resort is preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in a management position
- Exposure to the Rooms Division (e.g., Front Office) is advantageous
- Must have knowledge of hotel systems, including Opera (PMS) or comparable platforms
- Must have proficient computer skills, including in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have administrative and organizational skills with a strong attention to details
- Must have demonstrated success in leading, training, and motivating teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Must maintain compsure under pressure while effectively and efficiently managing multiple priorities
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business demands, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
