Job Summary 

Food & Beverage Interns will gain exposure to One&Only Moonlight Basin’s diverse Food & Beverage experiences, with opportunities to experience both Front-of-House and Heart-of-House operations. These individuals will develop an understanding of the many facets of Food & Beverage—both operationally and administratively. Through this experience, Interns will gain a well-rounded perspective of luxury Food & Beverage operations while contributing to the service excellence of the resort. 

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

Front-of-House Operations:

  • Welcome, greet, and assist guests in a warm manner, creating a memorable first impression 

  • Participate in full-service restaurant operations through hands-on experience fulfilling different roles 

  • Rotate between Food & Beverage outlets to gain exposure to different cuisines, concepts, and service styles 

  • Anticipate and respond proactively to guest questions, concerns, and expectations 

  • Develop an understanding of service flow, table management, reservations management, opening/closing procedures, and overall outlet operations 

Banquets & Events Functions:

  • Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of meetings, events, and other banquet functions in alignment with banquet event orders (BEOs) 

  • Support the team in delivering consistent service throughout events 

  • Coordinate with other departments, including Culinary, Stewarding, and Housekeeping, to ensure event requirements are addressed 

  • Gain an understanding of event timelines, staffing procedures, operational logistics, and service flow 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Work with reservation and guest management systems across Food & Beverage outlets 

  • Develop familiarity with inventory, purchasing, cost control, and other key operational functions 

  • Attend departmental meetings to gain insight into outlet planning, management communication, and day-to-day priorities’ 

  • Shadow experienced Food & Beverage leaders to gain insight into different career paths  

Other:

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Outlets or other members of management 

 

Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements  

  • Must be a current student or a recent graduate (within 2 years) of a university hospitality program 

  • Must be able to commit to a minimum 3-month (90-day) internship
  • Prior working experience in hospitality is strongly preferred 

  • Passionate about hospitality, with an interest in developing a career within the luxury hospitality industry 

  • Professional, polished, and positive guest-focused approach 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:   

  • Remaining in a stationary position for long periods   

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods 

  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling 

  • Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds 

  • Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
