Job Summary
The Manager, Learning & Development is responsible for all L&D needs, managing the L&D function of the resort. They will drive the Kerzner Int’l and One&Only Brand training programs to improve service standards. They will also roll out new L&D initiatives from Kerzner at One&Only Moonlight Basin.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Aligns their management style, working practices, and conduct with One&Only Moonlight Basin and Kerzner’s vision, corporate values, operating standards, and policies

Be a champion of the One&Only Brand training, ensuring continual top-of-mind awareness campaigns are executed and supported

Creates an environment that trains, develops, coaches, and mentors associates

Provides a professional, advisory, and executive support service to the Director, Human Resources to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the resort

Builds clear, open lines of communication with all departments

Builds consensus among senior leadership to gain needed support

Partners with department heads to lead the transformational changes needed to ensure each department is prepared for future talent management needs. This includes focusing on strengthening the capabilities of team members within a strong talent pipeline and with a succession-planning strategy, such as through skill development and training programs

Provides the management team L&D programs to address identified needs

Facilitates management training programs, implementing opportunities for quality team building

Ensures that department heads are held accountable for their associates’ attendance

Establishes a training library of books, videos, journals, and resources to assist trainer and staff development

Develops L&D activities, including budget training, training needs analysis, and program evaluations

Assists with monitoring and controlling all financial aspects of the L&D Department, including helping prepare the annual business plan

Be well-versed and knowledgeable in the resort’s emergency procedures, such as fire evacuation, as well as health and safety requirements in the workplace

Ensures associates are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation, and maintain complete familiarity

Where required, develop policy, and formulate direction and strategy

Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent working experience

Minimum of 3 years Learning & Development or Training experience is required

Certification related to Learning & Development is preferred

Proficient with computer systems including Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and the Internet, and possesses the ability to quickly learn new systems, is required
