Job Summary

Responsible for all Learning and Development needs and managing the L&D function of the Resort. Drive the Kerzner Int’l and One&Only Brand training programs to improve service standards. Roll out the new L&D initiatives from Kerzner at One&Only Moonlight Basin.  

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Align management style, working practices and conduct with One&Only Moonlight Basin and Kerzner’s vision, corporate values, operating standards and policies
  • Personally build clear and open lines of communication with all departments
  • Provide a professional, advisory and executive support service to the Director, Human Resources to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the resort
  • Able to effectively influence and communicate with different constituent groups within a large, multi-cultural employee environment. Demonstrated skill in building consensus at senior leadership levels to gain necessary commitment and support. Highly collaborative and resilient with strong management presence and polish. Track record of excelling in a complex & sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Facilitate management training programs and implement opportunities for quality Team Building
  • Notable success driving initiatives that measurably impact business growth and increase competitive advantage. Exceptional business acumen. Highly analytical, with a focus on employing metrics to measure results.
  • Partner with Department Heads to affect the transformational change necessary to ensure that each department is prepared for future talent management needs.  Focus on helping to strengthen the capabilities of team members within a strong talent pipeline and succession planning strategy, as well as skill development and training programs.
  • Be a champion of the One&Only Brand Training; ensure continual top of mind awareness campaigns are executed and ensure Department Heads are held accountable for their associate’s attendance
  • Establish a training library of books, videos, journals and resources to assist trainer and staff development
  • Develop the learning and development activities including training budget, training needs analysis and program evaluations
  • Provide management Learning and Development programs to address identified needs and Corporate Policy
  • Drive and support all Kerzner training programs
  • Be critical and demanding of operating standards
  • Assist with the monitoring and control of all financial aspects of the L&D Department including assisting with the preparation of the annual business plan
  • Be well versed and knowledgeable in the resort Fire Evacuation and all Emergency procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the workplace.  Ensure associates are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation and that they maintain complete familiarity.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum of 3 years Learning & Development or Training experience is required
  • Certification related to Learning & Development is preferred
  • Proficient with computer systems to include Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, internet, and the ability to quickly learn new systems as required
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop team members for long term career growth
  • Be innovative, financially savvy, provide instinctive service and be inspirational
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans
  • Ability to be decisive and possess strong execution and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change through strong influencing and change management skills
