Job Summary
The Income Auditor collects and processes all daily hotel revenue postings and ensures that they are accurately reported in the General Ledger. They also assist the department in performing their required financial procedures to ensure financial responsibilities are handled in a timely manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare the Daily Revenue Summary Report and submit to selected Executive Members on a daily basis
• Collect/Audit paperwork from all revenue centers in the hotel, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Review and balance rebates, paid outs, miscellaneous charges to the PMS and POS systems and invoices for miscellaneous guest charges are processed regularly
• Provides Heads of Department with the revenue figures necessary for them to operate their individual profit center
• Conducts audits on the work of Night Audit and ensuring all daily revenues been received and properly recorded
• Assist with developing daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing reports, and subsequent analysis of accounts and/or other balance sheet ledgers as directed.
• Monitors the Opera package amount, Bed Tax and Service Charge in Trial balance if picking-up or not and rectify if necessary
• Answer inquiries to the Accounting department, including folio requests from guests, credit card inquiries from guests, and requests for information from other departments within the hotel
• Spot checks the accuracy of regular and contractual room rates in the system
• Reviews the guest ledger balances daily and researches questionable movements or hanging folios (guest has checked-out but not settled)
• Ensures the Opera Trial Balance tallies with other POS systems
• All other duties as assigned by a member of the leadership team
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
• Knowledge in various computer systems such as Opera, Excel, etc.
• Minimum Two year experience in a Five star Resort/Hotel
• 2-3 years experience in a Finance/Accounting role preferrable within the hospitality industry
