Job Summary

The Aesthetician Lead/Supervisor is responsible for delivering exceptional skincare and spa treatments while providing leadership and mentorship to the aesthetician team. This role upholds the highest standards of professionalism, personalized care, and outstanding hospitality, ensuring alignment with the spa’s vision, mission, and brand standards to create an unparalleled guest experience.

In this role, you will perform expert facials, advanced skincare treatments, and specialized therapies, including lymphatic drainage modalities, catering to guests, VIPs, and press. Your treatments will adhere to brand protocols, ensuring exceptional client care, cleanliness, and professionalism. A deep understanding of product and service protocols allows you to tailor personalized wellness solutions that meet guest needs.

Beyond treatment delivery, you will mentor and support team members, assisting with training, technique development, and maintaining adherence to operational procedures, hygiene standards, and service protocols. You will play a key role in revenue growth by driving retail sales, upselling, and cross-selling spa services while ensuring the team meets performance goals.

Additionally, you will support spa leadership with scheduling, inventory management, and compliance with licensing and brand regulations. You will also provide assistance to the Nail Technicians (Bastien Therapists), ensuring a seamless, collaborative, and high-performing team environment. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will actively contribute to enhancing guest satisfaction and advancing the spa’s reputation for excellence.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Support

  • Mentor, train, and support aestheticians & nail techs. to uphold service excellence and brand standards
  • Assist with onboarding and developing new team members, ensuring proper technique and adherence to protocols
  • Act as a liaison between aestheticians, nail technicians (Bastien Therapists), and spa management to maintain smooth operations
  • Lead by example in professionalism, work ethic, and adherence to spa policies
  • Motivate and support the team, providing feedback on morale and performance

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Perform expert-level facials, advanced skincare treatments, and specialized therapies, including lymphatic drainage techniques along with utilizing skincare technology
  • Conduct in-depth consultations, identifying medical history and concerns to personalize treatments
  • Provide personalized aftercare recommendations, linking products to client needs and preparing purchases at reception
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding guest information and ensure a quiet, peaceful atmosphere in all spa areas
  • Deliver five-star service to all guests, including VIPs, media representatives, and high-profile clients

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure all therapists and nail technicians follow spa protocols, sanitation guidelines, and health and safety regulations
  • Oversee the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of treatment rooms, ensuring they are fully stocked and well-maintained
  • Support scheduling, shift coverage, and daily operational needs to maintain seamless service flow
  • Assist with inventory management, stock control, and ordering supplies to ensure smooth operations
  • Report maintenance issues and ensure proper upkeep of all spa equipment and treatment areas

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Achieve retail sales targets set by the Director by promoting product education and personalized recommendations
  • Encourage repeat visits by recommending ongoing treatment programs and cross-selling additional spa services
  • Track and analyze service trends, providing feedback to management on guest preferences and opportunities for growth
  • Participate in spa events, promotions, and guest engagement activities, including complimentary teaser treatments during slower periods
  • Ensure efficient use of products to minimize waste while maintaining service quality

Problem-Solving & Guest Relations

  • Address guest feedback and concerns promptly, ensuring high satisfaction and professional service recovery
  • Record and share guest preferences to enhance personalized experiences and maintain accurate guest profiles
  • Report guest complaints to the Duty Manager for timely resolution
  • Support spa reception and attendants as needed to uphold spa cleanliness and guest service standards

Professional Development & Engagement

  • Stay updated on industry trends, treatments, and product knowledge through continuous education and training
  • Attend and participate in required training sessions set by the leadership team
  • Represent the spa and resort with professionalism, acting as a brand ambassador
  • Demonstrate adaptability and eagerness to learn in a constantly evolving environment

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support nail technicians (Bastien Therapists) to ensure seamless collaboration and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain training records, monitor attendance, and track team performance
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with spa standards
  • Be flexible with scheduling and assist in various spa departments as needed

Carry out additional tasks assigned by management to enhance overall spa operations

 

 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is a valuable asset
  • Completion of 650 hours of aesthetician training at a state-approved school, with a valid state-issued license or transferred state-approved license
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in the aesthetics field
  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
  • Extensive expertise in facial technologies
  • Strong understanding of various aesthetic treatments, including Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, LED Light Therapy, Hydra Dermabrasion, Ultrasonic Therapy, Radiofrequency, High-Frequency, Cold Therapy, Oxygen Therapy, and Dermaplaning
  • Previous experience working in a luxury five-star resort or spa (at least three years)
  • Comprehensive understanding of facial massage therapies and a variety of body treatments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ability to handle guest complaints in a professional and effective manner
  • Must demonstrate adaptability to operational needs and flexibility with business demands as we build a strong foundation
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to conduct training for other therapists
  • Proficient in operating basic office equipment
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
