Job Summary

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for managing the full procurement to payment process, including placing, tracking, and receiving purchase orders. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all requisitions are accurately posted in the system once received according to purchasing policies
  • Ensure all purchase requests are approved by relevant leaders and stakeholders before submitting and processing orders
  • Obtain price comparisons, checking the best available offers with the most reliable suppliers
  • Conduct regular follow-ups on all open purchase orders, confirming the shipping status with suppliers
  • Confirm issue of payment to suppliers
  • Assist with unloading, loading, and delivering items, while conducting spot checks to understand quality and quantity
  • Coordinate with the Receiving Team in the event of any incorrect deliveries, damages, or expirations, reporting discrepancies to suppliers to obtain a replacement item and/or credit issuance
  • Maintain an up-to-date filing system of items within the Resort "store"
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Purchasing or another member of management

 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Proficient in computer systems, such as Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:   

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods 
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling 
  • Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds 
  • Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
