About The Role

 

As an Aquarist, you will actively participate in feeding schedules, food preparation, daily maintenance of in-tank and external facilities, water analysis, and animal observations. You will also participate in successful culturing regimes of live foods and animals. The Aquarist will ensure that the best animal welfare practices are in accordance with marine education, research, and conservation. The priority of this role will be to maintain the aquarium exhibits and cultures in line with routine and preventative maintenance programs above and in water. Proper husbandry techniques will be used to ensure the optimal health of animals including quarantine procedures, water quality analysis, and record keeping. Person in this role will work along other Aquarists, Senior Aquarists and Assistant Managers, all reporting to Manager and further to Director of Lost World Aquarium. Resposibilities of the role are split beteween Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal aquarium operations, giving wide range of learning opportunities.

 

About You

 

Our ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of aquarium experience along with a bachelor’s degree in Marine Science, Biology, or Zoology. Additionally, you must have a PADI Rescue Scuba Certification or equivalent. You should have excellent communication skills and ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organisation.
