Job Summary
The Director, MICE Global leads the global commercial strategy for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) across Kerzner International's ultra-luxury hospitality portfolio including Atlantis, One&Only, SIRO, and Rare Finds properties worldwide. This position reports to the VP Commercial and drives revenue growth, profitability, and market share for the MICE segment while shaping and executing commercial initiatives, forging key partnerships, and ensuring alignment between global and regional teams to maximize commercial performance.
The role combines strategic vision with operational excellence to deliver sustainable business growth in the luxury MICE sector. The position oversees global commercial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes while ensuring consistent commercial standards and practices across all regions. The Director collaborates with marketing, sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of MICE strategies while fostering innovation and collaboration across property-level and regional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement global MICE commercial strategy aligned with company vision and revenue objectives across all brands
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, and revenue streams for MICE across international territories and emerging markets
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights in the luxury MICE sector to inform strategic decision-making
- Drive global pricing, revenue management, and sales optimization strategies specifically for MICE business
Business Development & Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, meeting planners, event agencies, and industry stakeholders
- Negotiate and manage high-value MICE contracts and commercial agreements with multinational corporations and organizations
- Lead initiatives to expand company's MICE footprint in emerging markets while strengthening presence in established territories
Operational Excellence
- Oversee global MICE commercial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes ensuring alignment with overall commercial objectives
- Ensure consistent MICE commercial standards and practices across all regions and properties
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of MICE strategies
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire diverse global MICE and Events team fostering high-performance culture focused on creativity and innovation
- Drive talent development and succession planning for key MICE commercial roles across the organization
- Foster culture of accountability, innovation, and results-driven performance across global team
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor regional directors and property-level teams to deliver excellence in MICE sales, operations, and client experience
- Promote culture of collaboration across global offices and hotels for seamless MICE delivery
- Establish and monitor KPIs for MICE performance across all properties and regions
- Develop and implement technology solutions and platforms to enhance MICE booking and event management processes
- Represent Kerzner at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to strengthen brand positioning in MICE sector
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 12 years of progressive commercial leadership experience in MICE or events within global, multi-market environment
- Proven track record of driving MICE revenue growth, market expansion, and commercial transformation in luxury hospitality
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing high-value global MICE partnerships and contracts
- Exceptional analytical, financial, and strategic planning abilities with understanding of MICE market dynamics
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence senior executives
- Experience in luxury hospitality, travel, or premium events industry highly desirable
- Deep understanding of luxury MICE client needs and expectations across international markets
- Experience with MICE technology platforms and event management systems
- Strong network within corporate events, incentive travel, and luxury meeting planner communities
- International business experience with understanding of diverse cultural markets and MICE requirements.
