About The Role

 

•    Responsible for the handling of guest laundry, management, and all hotel linen including F&B linen. To produce and maintain the cleanliness of the guest laundry, uniforms, linen, and other washable items as per the hotel policy and standard.  


Key Duties and Responsibilities  

 

•    Loads / unloads of trolleys from vehicles.
•    Sorts out soiled linen into different wash loads.
•    Use the correct operating procedure of all types of machines in the laundry.
•    Inspects articles for stains and fabrics that require special care.
•    To have a complete understanding of the different cleaning products and their economical use.
•    To ensure that the laundry pick-up is prompt and correct.
•    Delivers guest laundry on a priority basis and sends advice cards if the room was ‘DND’ or double lock sign.
•    To ensure that indicator tags are used.
•    Records down the code number etc on the log book and quantities on the laundry lists.  
•    Records down all the particulars in the guest laundry record and updates on the system.
•    Keeps the guest laundry record sheets accurately to ensure that pending laundry is recorded and followed up.
•    Posts accurately to avoid discrepancy.
•    To handle guest inquiries courteously and efficiently and report guest complaints or problems to the housekeeping manager if no immediate solution can be found and ensure follow-up with guests.
•    Cleans and maintains laundry machines.
•    Distributes clean uniforms to personnel according to company specifications.
•    Inspect linen for damage and remove substandard uniforms from circulation and issue replacements.
•    Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional, maintains confidentiality of proprietary information, and protects company assets.
•    Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others; supports team to reach common goals; listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
•    Assists repair guest clothing upon request.
•    Assists with inventory of linen and uniforms.
•    Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of the working area.
•    Repairs and maintains Hotel furniture and soft furnishing, ensuring the highest quality of work and maintenance.
•    Repairs and maintains Hotel linen and uniforms in perfect condition at all times. 
•    Repairs guest clothing.
•    Inspect all machines and report any repair requirements to the Housekeeping Manager.
•    To report any malfunction of equipment to the Engineering department via the Housekeeping coordinator.
•    Attends to unexpected requests such as special stitching for function.
•    Records daily work in an appropriate log book.
•    Records all discarded lines in the appropriate log book.
•    Monthly linen reports must be ready end of the month.


Experience & Educational Requirements

 

•    Diploma in Hotel Management School
•    Vocational certification in Hospitality School.
•    2 years in a similar position in a five-star hotel.
