Job Summary

The Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the laundry section, ensuring smooth workflow, consistent quality, and timely processing of guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linen. This role supports the Laundry Manager by supervising team members, coordinating tasks, monitoring machine performance, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards. The Senior Team Leader works closely with Housekeeping and other departments to ensure efficient service delivery while guiding, training, and motivating the laundry team to uphold the hotel’s luxury service standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the complete laundry operations for guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linen, ensuring all processes align with The Meydan Hotel’s quality, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Supervise daily laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, and dispatching to ensure consistent quality and timely service.
  • Allocate tasks to team members, monitor performance, and ensure all staff follow established SOPs, hygiene protocols, and safety standards.
  • Inspect finished laundry items for quality, stains, and damages, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Uniform Room, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of linen, guest laundry, and staff uniforms.
  • Support the Laundry Manager in training new staff, maintaining productivity standards, and ensuring proper machine usage and handling of chemicals.
  • Monitor machine functionality, report maintenance issues to Engineering, and ensure minimal downtime during operations.
  • Maintain accurate daily production reports, reject logs, and inventory records of chemicals, linen, and consumables.
  • Assist in planning manpower schedules and ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak operations.
  • Uphold a positive work environment by guiding, motivating, and supporting the laundry team to achieve operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel laundry operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of laundry processes, including washing, drying, pressing, stain removal, and proper handling of different fabrics.
  • Experience in operating industrial laundry equipment, chemical dosing systems, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and train laundry staff to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Competence in monitoring daily operations, reporting production output, and managing linen inventory.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle guest laundry issues or operational challenges effectively.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Housekeeping, Uniform Room, and other hotel departments.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures, chemical safety, and operational SOPs.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office) for reporting and record-keeping.
  • These requirements ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary technical, operational, and leadership skills to excel as a Senior Team Leader in The Meydan Hotel laundry environment.
