About the Role
The Brand Design Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the design process within Kerzner for both SIRO and Rare Finds brands. They should thrive in design excellence, managing design projects, fostering a creative environment, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality design solutions that align with Kerzner's standards and meet the brand's (Kerzner, SIRO and Rare Finds) goals and objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement design strategies and plans aligned with Kerzner's objectives.
- Manage and communicate between hotel and resort teams on brand aspects including but not limited to, assigning briefs and tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Oversee the entire design process, and implement design and brand assets from conceptualization to final execution.
- Ensure high-quality design work that meets company standards and hotel and resort expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive design approach.
- Communicate design concepts, strategies, and project updates to stakeholders and team members.
- Establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong hotel and resort relationships, understanding their design requirements and ensuring satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with design industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies.
Design Expertise
- Strong knowledge and understanding of design principles, aesthetics, and industry trends, with the ability to create visually appealing and functional designs.
- Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate working with internal and external teams, designers, assign tasks, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Project Management: Proficiency in managing design projects from conception to completion, including setting timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design concepts, strategies, and project updates to stakeholders, clients, and team members. Ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify design challenges and propose innovative solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Design Software Proficiency: Proficiency in design software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or other relevant tools used in the design industry.
- Quality Control: Attention to detail and the ability to conduct design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality design output.
- Resort Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong resort and hotel relationships, understand their design needs, address concerns, and deliver design solutions that meet the organization, resorts and hotels expectations.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Design / Marketing in luxury hospitality or luxury lifestyle brands
- Proven track record implementing successful Marketing strategies and campaigns to build brand reputation, awareness, and conversion
- Global outlook with experience of working across multiple regions
- Internationally recognized Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Design / Marketing or equivalent.
- Occasional international travel
