About The Role
Paint walls, equipment, buildings, villas, public areas, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surface prior to painting. May mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
• Calculate amounts of required materials based on surface measurements and/or work orders.
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Fill cracks, joints, and holes with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish in a working area before painting in order to obtain the desired colors and consistencies.
• Read maintenance requests or receive instructions from PAM Team leader or Supervisor to determine work requirements.
• Smooth surfaces, using sandpapers, scrapers, brushes and/or sanding machines.
• Water-proof buildings/ structures using waterproofers and caulking.
• Should do other works as required by his Supervisor / Manager.
Experience & Educational Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience as a painter and/or polisher in a professional setting.
• Certification in painting or finishing techniques.
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in the same position
• Knowledge of modern paint mixing and application tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Become familiar with surface preparation and finishing materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or work orders.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and work in various positions for extended periods.
