Job Summary
The role is responsible for carrying out guided repair and maintenance tasks in guest rooms. This includes addressing minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and fixture issues, ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The position supports the overall upkeep of guest rooms, contributes to guest satisfaction, and assists the Engineering team in maintaining the property’s assets in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities
- To attend to maintenance requests (breakdown, planned and otherwise) relating to guest rooms.
- To conduct quality room care maintenance.
- To complete work orders, PPM’s and minor works (after approval) as directed in a professional manner.
- To report and follow up the entire Major and Minor repair and maintenance task related to guest rooms.
- In case of recurrent deficiency or defect to suggest and get alternative solutions implemented in coordination with the team leader and other superiors.
- To ensure the work areas, storage areas and areas near electrical panels or any other location under the purview of TSD are clean and properly organized.
- To keep all the electrical panels, storage areas and accesses leading to the roof locked.
- To ensure safe working practices and conditions for yourself, your colleagues and any contractual personnel.
- Request support, direction and assistance as needed or required by situation and work.
- To ensure that they have refresh training every 6 months on the use of MEWPS, PPE and electrical safety
- To assist public area technician and other TSD technician when require.
- Be familiar and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes and procedures.
- To perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.
- Provide work direction to third party contractors working in guest rooms.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- 1 year certificate of competency in electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Desirable with City and Guilds technician certificate or equivalent in electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in 5-star hotels.
- Preferably should have experience in hospitality environment maintenance and installation.
- Building safety & fire fighting.
- Various trades like Plumbing, HVAC, Mechanical etc,
- Good command of English language spoken & written
- Performs task accurately and efficiently
- Undertake all tasks completely
- Organized and disciplined, dedicated and loyal
- Friendly, pleasant and easy to be around
- Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Willing to take personal responsibility for own performance.
