About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of HVAC technicians in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC and mechanical systems. The role focuses on ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, and guest comfort while maintaining equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems, BMS, and ventilation systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide technicians in daily HVAC operations and maintenance.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot heat exchangers, chilled/hot water pumps, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, BMS controls, and ventilation systems.
- Plan and execute preventive and condition-based maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper operation of BMS alarms, setpoints, and energy optimization functions.
- Lead shutdowns, isolations, and equipment servicing with minimal disruption to operations.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
- Maintain proper records of works performed, refrigerant usage, and energy performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards including PPE usage.
- Provide leadership support during emergencies such as HVAC breakdowns affecting guest or operational areas.
- Coordinate with other facilities disciplines (electrical, plumbing, civil) for integrated maintenance works.
- Maintain calibration of tools, meters, and instruments used for HVAC operations.
About You
We are looking for an experienced HVAC professional with a minimum of 5–7 years in the field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or Trade Certification in Mechanical, HVAC, or Refrigeration and possess strong technical knowledge of heat exchangers, pumps, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, exhaust and ventilation systems, as well as BMS controls. Proficiency in troubleshooting chilled-water and ventilation systems is essential, along with the ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong leadership, reporting, and communication skills are required, as is the ability to perform effectively under pressure and lead during emergency response situations.
