Assistant Executive Housekeeper - One&Only Aesthesis Athens

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Executive Housekeeper and within the limits of the hotel’s policies and procedures, our Assistant Executive Housekeeper will assist in managing the entire Housekeeping function for The One&Only Aesthesis. This includes the service vision and concepts, oversees and directs all aspects of overall Housekeeping operations which includes guest rooms, public areas, laundry and back of house areas.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that all HKD team members report for duty in a timely manner and are issued with the relevant tools of the trade to carry out daily tasks.

Ensure that all respective HKD team members comply with company standards regarding dress and appearance One&Only Aesthesis.

Hand out all work assignments to each HK team member. Follow-up on tasks assigned to team members regarding job quality and efficiency.

Ensure the linen stock is adequately managed in that Par Levels as well as general condition of the linen is maintained at a 5-star standard.

Ensure that monthly stock takes are conducted for all linen, operating supplies, operating equipment and amenities and report to Executive Housekeeper.

Stock takes to be analyzed and variances explained to Executive Housekeeper.

Ensure that all operating inventories are accurate and timely ordering of report to Executive Housekeeper.

Responsible for reviewing and assisting performance appraisals of HKD team members based on the One&Only Aesthesis company policies and guidelines.

Implement and control housekeeping procedures that provide for the health and safety of personnel and guests, such as lost and found service, key control, security and emergency procedures.

To ensure all floral arrangements and decorations are of a very good standard.

To ensure all maintenance issues are reported to the Maintenance department and Security department and to be follow up.

To ensure that any loses or damages to furniture and fittings or equipment are reported to the Executive Housekeeper/ Security department.

To ensure that any guest complaint is reported to all HOD’s concerned and ensure that the Executive Housekeeper is informed immediately according to the gravity of the situation.

To ensure that changes in the Housekeeping function are adhered to as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.

Plan schedules for Special Cleaning (spring cleaning, windows, high windows, marble, sandstone areas, basement parking, and carpets etc.)

To assist with any other duties as required by the Director or another member of the management team.

To ensure the maximization of staff performance through the establishment of the Standard Operating criteria.

To identify training needs, especially for HKD team, assist in the development of formal and informal training plans and implement training sessions on an on-going basis and to inform Executive Housekeeper.

To ensure that all staff matters relating to misconduct or incapacity are dealt with time and that the appropriate disciplinary action to report to Executive Housekeeper.

Ensure that all workers are motivated to work and have the inspiration to work in HKD team.

Manager Housekeeping is assisting with department budget and forecast including Labour and expense forecasting in line with hotel occupancy and budget guidelines.

To communicate with reasons any variance on above budget and forecast to the Executive Housekeeper. 

To ensure that all costs are monitored, maintained and controlled in terms of the said budget are pre-agreed with the Executive Housekeeper.

To be flexible within your job and to be able to fulfill any other duties that you may be asked to perform


Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

Associate’s degree or above in facilities management, business management, or another hospitality-related field

Excellent computer skills and knowledge on Word, Excel and Opera

Must have basic accounting skills

Excellent use of English

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the housekeeping industry is essential

Minimum of 2 years of experience in management or supervisory roles is essential

Highly knowledgeable in cleaning methods and laundry and cleaning equipment operations

Highly knowledgeable in the use and storage of cleaning chemicals

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and able to communicate with persons at all levels

Excellent leadership capabilities with a talent for delegating tasks to capable staff
