Job Details & Requirements
The Commis Chef supports the kitchen brigade in food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
- Support senior chefs during cooking and plating of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as instructed
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic inventory checks
- Properly handle kitchen tools and equipment
- Minimize waste and report shortages or quality issues to supervisors
- Carry out additional kitchen tasks as assigned by senior chefs
