Job Summary
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems within the hotel. This includes lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems. The electrician ensures that all electrical work meets high safety and quality standards, contributing to a seamless and luxurious experience for guests. The role may also involve collaborating with other maintenance staff and participating in energy efficiency initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Electrical System Maintenance: Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
- Installation of Fixtures: Install and replace lighting fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components in guest rooms, public areas, and service facilities.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with local regulations and safety standards, including fire safety protocols.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent outages and ensure efficiency.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to coordinate repairs and renovations, particularly during off-peak hours.
- Emergency Response: Be available for emergency repairs, including power outages and electrical failures, to maintain guest comfort and safety.
- Upgrades and Improvements: Assist in upgrading electrical systems and implementing energy-efficient solutions to enhance sustainability.
- Closely cooperate with team leader about given tasks and activities.
- Familiar with safety standards and legal requirements to follow in daily activities.
- Respond promptly and accurately to maintenance requests and work orders.
- Timely and accurately reporting to superiors and relevant parties on completed and uncompleted tasks.
- Filled in the maintenance software all activities and tasks records.
- Responsible for inventory and proper condition of personal tools, and large tools which are provided to the electricians on an as-needed base. To report immediately about any failures or breakages.
- Monitor electricity consumption and report immediately if any deviation is noted.
- Familiar with main shut offs (water, electricity, heating and cooling, LPG) and to react quickly in case of emergency.
- Familiar with FLS systems and procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical work, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Guest Interaction: Occasionally interact with guests to address electrical issues in their rooms, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior staff or apprentices in electrical practices and hotel-specific systems.
- Inventory Management Monitor and manage inventory of electrical supplies and tools, ensuring adequate stock for repairs and maintenance.
- Attends departmental meetings and lineups.
- Perform other duties related but not limited to new projects, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, as may be required by immediate superiors and undertake any works and tasks that are assigned to promote and/or ensure the smooth operation of the resort.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Professional license.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Proven experience as an electrician in commercial and/or industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Computer literate.
