About the role
He/She leads, manages and organizes all aspects of F&B or other Events as well as Entertainment to the highest standards and in accordance with set SOPs. Systematically monitors the performance of the department and intervenes immediately if deviations occur. He/She will be creative and leads all our events from beginning to the end. He/She will maintain an excellent reputation in the eyes of the public, owners, management, guests and colleagues.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To Create the concepts for any major events during the year (Christmas, New Year, Easter, etc…)
  • To Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all event venues in order to best advise clients on the logistical aspects of their events.
  • To develop and maintain a close client relationship and to ensure the client needs are fully understood and converted.  
  • Determine and achieve events sales goals based on budget and/or forecast and KPI
  • To manage the event during build up, execution and breakdown periods.
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety regulations are followed during the set up, execution and breakdown of events.
  • To act as a main contact/liaison between the client and all service partners/departments working on the event, including an element of managing service partner staff.
  • To maintain a close working relationship with other HODs and Excom (in particular with DOFB, DOSM, Exec Chef) and ensures good interdepartmental communications between all departments so that events are organized efficiently, required standards of services are maintained and client’s requirements are met.
  • To be responsible for the annual event budget (including private dining)
  • To create and manage the event and entertainment plan for the year, including proposal for Music and Artists
  • To provide regular upkeep/maintenance reports of the event facilities to the Director of F&B.
  • To implement and manage internal administration procedures, including event reports, event schedules, invoicing and purchase control.
  • To complete a comprehensive post event report and to communicate action points during the weekly operations meeting.
  • To collaborate with the Sales & Marketing in order to generate opportunities for new business
  • Attend social functions such as the GMC in order to meet new business opportunities
  • Actively be around the Resorts public areas to engage with guests and obtain feedback as well as identify opportunities for sales.
  • Recruit musicians and entertainment for the resort.
  • Regularly check on the performances and appearance of artists employed by the Resort.
  • Ensure all the events / functions are documented with photographers and identify social media opportunities.
  • Develop and coordinate non-F&B events with relevant department heads including the Art program.
  • Cover EOD shifts 
  • To have records of all the entertainer’s performance for monthly reports
  • To communicate with Airport representatives and HR officer for the processing of visa and arrival of the entertainers

 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience in related field
  • Ability to articulate and write fluently in English
  • Computer Knowledge in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
  • Experience in press and guest relations
  • Excellent communication skills internally within the organization, as well as externally with respective agencies and media-related parties
  • Resourceful, resilient and efficient at problem solving
