Role Overview: 
The Income Audit & Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all hotel, SPA, F&B, and other operating revenues. The role plays a key part in safeguarding revenue, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting cash flow management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
The position is responsible for performing daily income audit activities, monitoring revenue transactions across all operating systems, managing accounts receivable processes, supporting credit control procedures, and ensuring timely reconciliation between operational and financial systems. The role works closely with Front Office, F&B, Sales, Reservations, SPA, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and efficient financial processes.

Duties & Responsibilites

Income Audit & Revenue Control

• Perform daily income audits across all revenue streams, including Rooms, F&B, SPA, and other operating departments.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and proper recording of all revenue transactions.
• Review daily revenue reports and investigate discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Verify correct posting and reconciliation between PMS (Opera), POS (Micros), ERP, payment platforms, and banking reports.
• Perform daily reconciliation of revenue, payments, settlements, and system interfaces.
• Monitor revenue adjustments, discounts, rebates, voids, complimentary transactions, and other exceptions according to company policies.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly income audit and revenue reports.
• Maintain and continuously improve income audit procedures and internal controls.

Accounts Receivable & Credit Control

• Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, billing, collections, and customer account maintenance.
• Monitor outstanding balances and ensure timely collection in line with approved credit terms and company policies.
• Review ageing reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Support credit control procedures, including monitoring credit limits, payment history, and escalation of overdue balances.
• Handle guest, corporate client, travel agent, and payment provider queries related to billing and account balances.
• Maintain accurate customer records and supporting documentation.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate payment discrepancies.

Payment Reconciliation & Compliance

• Support credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with banks and payment providers.
• Review payment settlements and ensure completeness of received funds.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements, including MyData.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit requests.

Finance Operations Support

• Collaborate with the Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, and Director of Finance on reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc finance projects.
• Work closely with operational departments to resolve revenue and billing-related issues.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the Finance Department.
• Support the establishment and maintenance of strong financial controls within hotel operations.

Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospitality finance, accounting, income audit, accounts receivable, or related roles.
• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment will be considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of hotel operations and revenue flows across Rooms, F&B, and SPA departments.

Technical Skills

• Experience with hotel PMS systems (Opera preferred).
• Experience with POS systems (Micros preferred).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of Greek accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Understanding of payment processing and reconciliation procedures.
