Job Summary

Be able to identify the types of linens and their use along with proper cleaning methods. To ensure all dirty linens and clothing that is sent to the Laundry is cleaned to the highest possible standard according to One&Only whilst completed in a timely manner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

General:

• • To understand and to be able to operate all laundry machinery in the correct manner to avoid any damage

to the equipment, linens and Colleagues.

• • Sorts all dirty linen into types of linens and its use, including uniform and personal clothing.
  • Washes and dries all items in accordance with the correct wash and drying settings.
  • Checks all linens and towels for stains which need to be rewashed and follow the correct rewash

procedure / discard procedure.

• • Uses the flatwork ironer to iron the necessary items.
  • Folds stack and stores neatly all clean linens according to size and items.
  • Ensures all guest personal clothing is marked and recorded accordingly.
  • Ensures guest personal clothing is cleaned using the correct process and handled in a manner to prevent

damages.

• • When packing guest clothing ensures that all items are packed and accounted for according to the

laundry list and what was received.

• • Assists in the inventories and keeps a record of production and time where required in the

Laundry.

• Assists in new Colleague job skill training as and when requested by the Executive Housekeeper.
• Ensures that the task provided daily are executed to the expectation of One&Only standard.
• Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Attends and participates in team events.
  • Participates in required training related to the job.
  • Communicates effectively and maintains a favorable working relationship with Colleagues at all levels.
  • Assures professional attitude towards guest and Colleagues at all times.
  • Ensures that Grooming and Hygiene standards of One&Only are met at all times when in uniform.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• • Fluency in English is essential, any additional languages is preferable.
  • Must be willing to learn and skilled to perform the job of a Laundry Attendant.
  • Any job experience in the Hospitality and Housekeeping department in a resort environment (preferable five star) is a valuable addition.
