Assistant Manager, Learning & Development

The Assistant Manager, Learning & Development will ensure smooth L&D operations by managing L&D functions, assisting in monitoring, managing, and enforcing all hygiene-related programs, food safety-related training, and supporting ESG initiatives in the Resort. Works hand in hand with the Manager, L&D to ensure all objectives and outcomes are met.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors the ongoing learning activities in every department and if needed provides learning support, such as co-facilitating or providing a sense of direction in the learning programs.
  • Ensure health and safety and food safety training programs are regularly conducted in all departments.
  • Act as a technical specialist in all Food Safety and Hygiene related matters.
  • Take an active role in the preparation of the annual learning training and audit plan.
  • Plans, develops and conducts programs to all colleagues on a regular basis include but not restricted to, Kerzner compliance training.
  • Coordinates and keeps appropriate records of departmental monthly learning activities.
  • Monitors the Departmental Trainers' performance throughout the resort and maintains the count as per the target.
  • Conducts learning/training needs analysis and recommends strategies to bridge gaps identified.
  • Compiles the training reports, attendance, and departmental learning plans.
  • All learning is conducted adhering to all policies and procedures as well as One&Only standards.
  • Creates and constantly updates training material to suit organizational needs.
  • Maintain and delivers performance management learning session in line with Kerzner international requirements.
  • Perform walk through in various parts of the operations to audit standards and quality of the service.
  • Maintains the apprentices’ programs and its related tasks.
  • Creates and maintain all relevant learning records in accordance with organizational needs and requirements.
  • Provides supports and organizes in house cross training as well as assists in the cross exposure and professional development opportunities with other O&O resorts and or other learning institution.
  • Maintain/his/her work area tidy at all times as well as other areas of L&D including electronic files.
  • Assist in colleague and guest engagement activities (Eg: wellness program & HR events) .
  • Keeps Manager, L&D informed in all related matters and communication with other colleagues and departments in order to run a smooth operation in L&D.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in all tasks assigned to achieve the desired outcome in a timely fashion.
  • Shows an active interest in supporting change in L&D.
  • Shares knowledge and skills with other colleagues and communicates effectively.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management.
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by the Manager, Learning & Development or Director, Human Resources
