JOB SUMMARY
Be able to identify the types of linens and their use along with proper cleaning methods. Ensure all dirty linens and clothing that are sent to the Laundry are cleaned to the highest possible standard according to One&Only Reethi Rah whilst completed promptly.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To understand and be able to operate all laundry machinery correctly to avoid any damage to the equipment, linens, and staff.
• Sort all dirty linen into types of linens and their use, including uniform and personal clothing.
• Wash and dry all items with the correct wash and drying settings.
• Check all linens and towels for stains that need to be rewashed and follow the correct rewash procedure / discard procedure.
• To use the flatwork ironer to iron the necessary items.
• Fold stack and store neatly all clean linens according to size and items.
• Ensure all guest personal clothing is marked and recorded accordingly.
• Ensure guest personal clothing is cleaned using the correct process and handled in a manner to prevent damage.
• When packing guest clothing ensure that all items are packed and accounted for according to the laundry list and what was received.
• To be able to assist in the inventories and to keep a record of production and time where required in the Laundry.
• Assist in new colleague job skill training as and when requested by the superiors.
• Ensure that the tasks provided daily are executed to the expectation of O&O RR standard.
• Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Attends and participates in team events.
• Participates in required training related to the job.
• To effectively communicate and maintain a favorable working relationship with colleges at all levels.
• Always ensure a professional attitude towards guests and colleagues.
• Ensure to always meet the Grooming and Hygiene policy of One&Only Reethi Rah when in uniform.
• To perform all other jobs related to your scope of work, as requested by your superiors or other Managers
SKILL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
• Must be of Grade 12 or A- level standard educated. (Be Fluent in Spoken and written English, any other foreign language is a plus factor)
• Hospitality graduates have an advantage.
• Must be skilled to perform the job of a Laundry Attendant.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of job experience in a five-star or higher category resort.
