JOB SUMMARY
Performs his/her assigned tasks to the highest professional standards, displays good salesmanship in up-selling skills, and coordinates with production staff on special requests. Demonstrates excellent menu product knowledge, telephone skills, and etiquette. Displays good teamwork attitude towards his/her colleagues Communicates with guests and reports guests’ feedback to the IVD Manager, Assistant Manager, and Chefs to ensure high levels of food and service quality and guest satisfaction are always maintained.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Ensures that all mise-en place is correctly prepared before commencing service.
•    Practices proper telephone etiquette with colleagues and guests
•    Presents oneself in a way that enhances the guests’ overall experience, by adding life and energy to the outlet.
•    Ensure all reservations/bookings for private functions are carried out professionally as per departmental guidelines.
•    Demonstrates excellent product knowledge of all food and beverage items offered by the resort.
•    Maintains and creates a working environment that reflects a sense of place.
•    Remains updated on all resort happenings, including guests in-house, arrivals and departures, as well as daily events.
•    Ensures that the work areas are always thoroughly clean.
•    At all times, act in a responsible manner, especially regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages
•    Ensures that all tasks assigned by superiors are completed, in a timely fashion.
•    Ensures excellent communication and working relationships with colleagues are maintained and contributes to the team spirit and morale of the resort.
•    To route proper handover to the next shift, to avoid miscommunication, and to be aware of what is going on throughout the operation.
•    Responsible for reporting any potentially hazardous situations within the workplace.
•    Reports incidents of breakages, equipment repair, and maintenance to Superior.
•    Always maintains the highest levels of personal hygiene.
•    To ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all work areas.
•     To be fully aware of all health and safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
•    Responsible for reporting any potentially hazardous situations within the workplace.
•    To keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
•     Performs any additional or special duties, as directed by a superior.
•    Maintains a high standard of appearance and always grooming, as per One&Only standard.
•    Apply and adhere to rules and regulations as per employee handbook, and departmental and resort policies!
•    and procedures, including those for emergencies.
•    Develop and maintain an understanding of the overall organization’s mission, vision, and values.
•    At all times to project a favorable image of One&Only Reethi Rah and One&Only Resorts to the guests and public.
•    Practices proper telephone etiquette with colleagues and resort guests.
•    Ensures all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of the Maldivian Law.
•    Ensure company policies and procedures, including those around sick leave notification and ferry departure times.
•    Require team members to inform their supervisor at least two hours before their scheduled start time if they are unable to work due to illness or other reasons.
•    Require team members to inform their assistants. Manager or Manager at least one hour before ferry departure if they are unable to make the ferry due to unforeseen circumstances.
•    Performs any additional or special duties, as directed by a superior
•    To perform all other jobs related to your scope of work, as requested by your superiors or other Managers. 

 

SKILL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT 
•    Fluent in written and spoken English, other languages a distinctive advantage. 
•    To be able to work well under pressure.
•    2 years experience in a similar capacity
•    To be able to communicate effectively and multi-task.
•    GCE A level/ Cambridge Examinations or high school graduate
•    Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
