JOB SUMMARY
Team Leader, Bar is responsible for the supervision & and controlling of service quality at Tapasake/Rah Bar.  Managing the day-to-day operation by always maintaining One & Only standards. He/she furthermore assures that the beverage list is internationally recognized, by providing a constant variety of all styles of non-alcoholic & and alcoholic beverages. Ensures proper sanitation in the outlet under his/her jurisdiction, adequate stocks of food & and beverage, inter–department coordination, and training. Carries full responsibility for the operating equipment including its inventory levels. Ensures and enforces the set service standard procedures by directing, supervising, training, and motivating staff to perform to the highest level of service. Communicates with guests and shares feedback with Chefs and Management to ensure high levels of food & and beverage service quality and guest satisfaction are always maintained. Displays creativity in Beverage menu design, and beverage sales programs, and ensures to exceed revenue budgets and beverage costs set by the resort.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Ensures that all mise-en-place is correctly prepared before commencing service.
•    Demonstrates excellent product knowledge of all food, beverage, tobacco, and special functions held at the resort.
•    Ensures that the setup and layout of the bar and surroundings are flawless and reflect the image of the resort.
•    Attends F&B morning briefings in the absence of the beverage manager and disseminates information to Bar employees.
•    To assist the beverage manager in coordinating evening entertainment in the Rah bar/Tapasake with the guidance of the F&B director/assistant director and provide feedback to and from bands to F&B management. 
•    All beverage lists & and beverage prices in micros are updated in all outlets to ensure consistency. 
•    At all times, act responsibly, especially regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages
•    Maintains and creates a working environment that reflects a sense of place.
•    Ensure quality and presentation of menus and service are impeccable for the Bar
•    Delegates responsibilities to Bar employees and ensures tasks are completed timeously. 
•    To anticipate the volume of business, taking into consideration the peak/low seasons, holidays, and general activities in the Resort.
•    Advise on slow-moving items and recommend required action, where and when necessary.
•    To ensure that all outlet managers are fully aware of current and future house pours, new additions, and estimated sales targets.
•    Conducts performance appraisals for colleagues and ensures it's completed on time.
•    Control all the costs and expenses as per the monthly budget set by the F&B department.
•    Complies with the Resort’s purchasing and store requisitioning procedures, in respect of Internal and external supplies. 
•    Generates reports for the outlet and ensures that they are delivered to the correct receivers as per deadline.
•    Organize and coordinate special functions/events as required.
•    Generate or assist the beverage manager in generating work schedules and vacation planners for the beverage team, according to forecasted demand requirements.
•    Ensures Quality and presentation of menus and services in all restaurants and bars are immaculate.
•    Conducts a daily briefing together before service and a de-briefing once a week with team members.
•    Develop realistic action plans aimed at introducing and/or improving service, procedures, and working methods. 
•    Successfully executes the ESI Action Plan to achieve an engagement score set by the resort on an annual basis.
•    Responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering training for the department.
•    Conduct disciplinary actions when requested and required.
•    Handle guest requests and complaints effectively and efficiently to satisfy all relevant stakeholders.
•    Attends and participates in all required team events. 
•    Must participate in required training organized by the learning & and development center. 
•    Apply and adhere to rules and regulations as per the employee handbook, departmental and resort policies and procedures, including those for emergencies.
•    Ensures all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of the Maldivian Law
•    To perform all other jobs related to your scope of work, as requested by your superiors or other Managers.

 

SKILL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT 
•    Fluent in written and spoken English, with other languages a distinctive advantage.  
•    To be able to work well under pressure. 
•    2 years experience in a similar capacity 
•    To be able to communicate effectively and to do multiple tasks. 
•    Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Micros) 
•    Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management or similar educational program
