JOB SUMMARY

 

Assists the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Manager in maintaining resort standards, leads, supervises, and motivates his/her staff in all aspects of service to the highest professional standards with care and attention to detail and by the standard operating procedures established by the Food & Beverage Manager. 
Assists the Manager and Assistant to manage and organize all aspects of sanitation, maintenance, decoration, work, and adequate stock levels. Communicates with guests and shares feedback with the Team Leader / Restaurant Supervisor to ensure high levels of food and service quality and guest satisfaction are maintained at all times. 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Presents oneself in a way that enhances the guest’s overall experience by adding life and energy to the outlet. 
  • Ensures that all mise-en place is correctly prepared before commencing service. 
  • Prepares all food and beverage requests within the time parameters set by the resort and always displays attributes of genuine hospitality. 
  • Demonstrates excellent product knowledge of all food and beverage items offered at the resort, and other items provided by the outlet. 
  • Ensures that the design and layout of the restaurant and bar equipment is flawless and reflects the image of the resort. 
  • Maintains and creates a working environment that reflects a sense of place. 
  • Delegates responsibilities to service personnel, and ensures tasks are completed. 
  • professionally presents oneself. 
  • Remains updated on all resort happenings, including guests in-house, arrivals, and departures, as well as daily events. 
  • Reports incidents of breakages, equipment repair, and maintenance to the Manager Restaurant / Assistant Manager Restaurant 
  • Attends and participates in all allocated team events. 
  • Participates in required training related to the job. 
  • To effectively communicate and maintain a favorable working relationship with colleges at all levels. 
  • Assure professional attitude towards guests and colleagues at all times. 
  • To be conscious and responsible regarding energy and water conservation. 
  • Maintains the highest levels of personal hygiene at all times. 
  • To ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all work areas. 
  • To be fully aware of all health and safety, fire, and emergency procedures 
  • Responsible for reporting any potentially hazardous situations within the workplace to the Restaurant Manager 
  • Maintains a high standard of appearance and grooming at all times, as per one & only standard. 
  • Apply and adhere to rules and regulations as per the employee handbook, departmental and resort policies, and procedures, including those for emergencies. 
  • At all times to project a favorable image of One&Only Reethi Rah and One&Only Resorts to the guests and public 
  • professionally handles any guest’s complaint, as per the resort’s Policy and procedure (service recovery). 
  • Practices proper telephone etiquette with colleagues and resort guests. 
  • Ensures all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of the Maldivian Law. 
  • Ensures that all tasks assigned by the respected superiors are completed, in a timely and professional fashion. 
  • To keep the immediate Team leader promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. 
  • To check and update the restaurant diary or communication booklet, ensuring all colleagues are well aware of all the information before commencing a shift.  
  • Update & review the guest preferences, before approaching guest tables and communicate to the team, if recorded, as promised to our customers. 
  • To ensure that orders of food and beverage are served promptly by food & beverage SOP. 
  • Use the upselling techniques at suitable timing, to increase the hotel revenue, to achieve the annual goals. 
  • To report all faults, guest concerns, comments, and complaints to the restaurant manager to emphasize, solve, follow up, communicate, and prevent the issues repetitively.  
  • Being proactive in getting things done and exceeding the expectations of guests where possible. 
  • Greet our customers with unique one-and-only greeting techniques and greeting standards. 

 

SKILL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT 

 

  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with other languages a distinctive advantage. 
  • To be able to work well under pressure 
  • 2 years experience in a similar capacity 
  • Age between 22 – 28 years 
  • Should be positive and flexible to different duties. 
  • 5 Pass and above in GCE O level/ Cambridge Examinations 
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Micros)  
  • Have participated in leadership training.
