About the Role

 

The Assistant Manager Front Office supports the Front Office Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Front Office department to ensure exceptional guest experiences and efficient hotel operations. The role is responsible for supervising front office associates, maintaining service standards, handling guest concerns, and ensuring smooth coordination between departments while maximizing guest satisfaction and revenue opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the Front Office, including Reception, Concierge, Guest Relations, and Bell Services.
  • Ensure seamless check-in and check-out experiences for all guests.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate Front Office team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Handle guest complaints, feedback, and special requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure VIP arrivals, group arrivals, and special events are coordinated effectively.
  • Monitor room inventory, room allocation, and occupancy levels to maximize revenue.
  • Maintain compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and luxury hospitality standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational updates to the team.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Reservations, Engineering, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in preparing staff schedules, performance reviews, and training plans.
  • Monitor cash handling, billing accuracy, and Front Office financial procedures.
  • Support the Front Office Manager in achieving departmental goals, guest satisfaction targets, and operational KPIs.

 

About You

 

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of Front Office experience in a hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office operations, guest relations, and hotel procedures.
  • Experience using Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage guest complaints and deliver effective service recovery.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of luxury hospitality standards such as Forbes and LQA is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
