About the Role

The Director, Sales is responsible for revenue generation, strategic business and competitive planning from our key source markets and customers; as well as for building a marketing plan and associated sales activities to execute with the Sales & Reservations teams to achieve sales targets and company goals. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist the General Manager in leading the business strategy planning and budgeting strategy planning and budgeting process, working with relevant divisions and department heads. 
  • To ensure that all quality, service, and controls conform to established standards set forth by the General Manager and by One&Only Resorts. 
  • To develop and design attractive offers and packages for guests, travel agents and trade clients.
  • To anticipate market demand factors with sales territories to capture best possible group and long-term business.
  • To ensure that all customer service requirements are met within 24 hours.
  • To create the Hotel's sales activities plan by including sales targets based on market analysis.
  • To monitor and analyse sales results.
  • To organise comprehensive information to existing and potential customers with regards to the product range offered by the Hotel, with the aid of the relevant sales resources and sales channels.
  • To manage smooth and effective operation of Sales & Reservations.
  • To cooperate with other departments of the Hotel.
  • To expand new customer acquisitions and manage contacts with existing guests and key contacts.
  • To preapare contracts for the Hotel in accordance with the current business and price conditions.
  • To monitor offers, options, and discounts for repeat bookings for groups, congresses, and seminars in close collaboration with the Group Coordinator.
  • To manage the sales resources, sales personnel, sales initiatives, and top accounts worldwide.
  • To provide professional, advisory, and executive support to the General Manager in meeting strategic goals.
  • To participate in the development and implementation of policies for the department.
  • To monitor and evaluate contemporary sales initiatives and trends.
  • To conduct market research.
  • To analyse, evaluate and improve personal and team performance on a continuous basis.
  • To work closely with the Director, Revenue in the coordination of channel marketing and promotions.
  • To participate and lead event meetings, sales, and other staff meetings.
  • To develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates.
  • To demonstrate a sense of urgency towards improving the Hotel's revenue performance.
  • To maintain a positive attitude and positive spirit of performance.
  • To actively prospect and qualify new business.
  • To accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders.
  • To produce monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts.
  • To attend and represent the Hotel at trade shows and conventions and/or participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.
  • To actively pursue potential customers for the Hotel through sourcing new business and building on current relationships which includes leading Action Plans, prospecting, direct sales calls, and site visitations.
  • To ensure that the sales processes are efficient and exceed our customers' expectations right from the inquiry stage to the post-event follow-up.
  • To be passionately curious about sourcing new opportunities of where and when we can grow our revenues.
  • To prepare monthly Action Plans with the Sales team and to conduct a monthly review of activity plans and key accounts as per the Manager, Sales.
  • To attend and assist Hotel functions, when needed.
  • To negotiate contracts with clients for all aspects pertaining to each client's file.
  • To pitch in and assist other team members to achieve the team goals and incentives.
  • To understand customers, build organisational credibility and to develop new revenue sources.
  • To enhance one's own ability and the ability of others to contribute.
  • To manage expenses, maximise revenues, encourage upselling through incentives, and to work at staying ahead of the competition.
  • To display a positive attitude, maintain enthusiasm and to celebrate successes.
  • To ensure compliance with company standards.
  • To maintain rapport with clients.
  • To be responsible for the granting of credit limit and collection of outstanding payment.
  • To be able to travel overseas for sales calls and to participate in travel fairs, both local and foreign.
  • To be responsible of the sale Private Residences.

 

About You

The desired qualification for this role is at least a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Management or Tourism/Hospitality Management. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the same role in an International Ultra-Luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
