About this Role
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the resort's electrical systems and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and staff accommodations. The role supports the delivery of exceptional guest experiences by ensuring that all electrical systems are functioning effectively and in compliance with safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment throughout the resort.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, power outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and control panels.
Conduct routine inspections of electrical equipment and identify potential hazards or defects.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, villas, public areas, restaurants, and back-of-house facilities.
Maintain generators, transformers, distribution boards, and emergency lighting systems.
Monitor the performance of electrical equipment and report any abnormalities.
Ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical systems to support hotel operations.
Assist with energy conservation initiatives and monitor energy usage.
Follow all health, safety, and fire regulations during maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used.
Support engineering projects, renovations, and installations as assigned.
Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
Participate in emergency response procedures and provide support during power failures or other emergencies.
About You
National Trade Certificate (NTC), Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering.Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Electrician, preferably within a hotel, resort, commercial building, or luxury hospitality environment.Sound knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, motors, generators, lighting systems, and distribution boards.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with occupational health and safety requirements.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Basic computer literacy.Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs.
