About the Role

To deliver training and establishes and enforces company policies on performance review as to make a significant contribution to employee motivation, productivity and development.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyses training and development needs according to priority in collaboration with hotel management line managers.
  • Establishes, in collaboration with One & Only Le Saint Geran Training Academy, a yearly training plan to cater for identified needs within the agreed training budget.
  • Plans and implements employee development programs in collaboration with the One & Only Le Saint Geran Training Academy to meet identified needs and satisfy the organisation’s requirements for an effective workforce.
  • Processes all HRDC grant applications and liaises with the HRDC to ensure maximum and timely payment of grants applied for.
  • Provides counseling to employees as far as career planning, training and development is concerned.
  • Follows orientation of all new employees in accordance with the hotel guidelines.
  • Personally delivers training in collaboration with One & Only Le Saint Geran Training Academy.
  • Any other cognate duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Human Resources Director to facilitate the smooth running of the hotel.
  • No new termination of employment without Human Resources Director and General Manager’s approval.
  • May discipline staff in liaison with the Human Resources Director and in accordance with the company’s disciplinary procedures.
  • To be responsible for the development for the development of all employees in maintaining the O&O culture committed to achieving our Vision of “The ultimate hotel management company, with a passion for excellence and innovation, honoring the individuality and heritage of its iconic hotels.
  • To create “an energetic and exciting learning environment” across departments while ensuring we work toward improving knowledge; skills and behaviors that are needed to drive business results.
  • To lead, develop and coach all levels of employees to realize both personal and organizational goals through passionate commitment to the strategy and key goals of OOLSG.
  • To be responsible for identifying leadership development training needs and designing experiences that drive the highest levels of employee engagement, guest engagement and performance excellence.
  • To provide support and guidance to all Learning & Development Trainers within the company.
  • To be responsible for the Talent Management Process in line with the People Development Process review system; Co-ordinates Talent Mapping process and ensures Succession Planning is in place for key roles.
  • To seek opportunities and coordinates assignments to support career pathing and development opportunities for high potential leaders to ensure growth and retention.
  • To consult with and support Executive Team in the team building activities.
  • To ensure design and implementation of core curriculum for all employees – eg: service standards; guest service; code of conduct etc.
  • To coordinate the annual hotel training plans and budgets ensuring alignment with company goals and strategic plans.
  • Follow-up on all training activities within the hotel to ensure standards are met and completion attained.
  • Guide and assist each department in developing quality introductory and on-going departmental training plans and learning activities; maintain active follow-up through on-going coaching and guidance and support.
  • To initiate relationships and partnerships with industry associations, external training companies and academic counsels related to the hospitality industry.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; must be able to verbally convey detailed instructions to employees or guests.
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility.
  • Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends.
  • Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to manage by example.
  • Assist with general support for the Corporate office and participate in other projects as required.
  • Identification, communication, and assessment of industry innovation in Learning & Development.
  • Reporting on a regular basis on business results.
  • Spend time within the hotels to get first-hand knowledge and provide support as needed.
  • Any other reasonable requests made by Director of Human Resources.
  • May not make policy or procedural changes without prior approval of the Human Resources Director.
  • May not make statements to the press.
  • May not make changes to or in any way concerning standard operation procedures without authority of the Human Resources Director.
  • May not authorise salary and wages adjustments.

About You

The ideal candidate should have at least a degree in management. The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in the same role in an International Ultra-Luxury Resort. The ideal candidate should have an excellent communication skills and be computer literate.
