About The Role
The Manager, Sales will assist the Director, Sales&Marketing to increase corporate client base through consistent solicitations while establishing trust and rapport with clients to generate and boost revenues for the hotel and is responsible for promoting sales for the resort.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Manager, Sales
- To be responsible for the selling of guest rooms, meeting space and other services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business.
- To prepare and present effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports.
- May also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings.
- To meet all deadlines and room night targets.
- To anticipate market demand factors with sales territories to capture best possible group and long-term business.
- To have a sales-minded approach toward all job functions and duties.
- To take necessary tactical and strategic actions to achieve desired sales results.
- To sell within agreed group selective sell guidelines and adhere to group room maximum commitment levels.
- To implement account management program that directs daily sales activity toward productive/profitable segments and accounts.
- To generate downtime group revenue.
- To demonstrate a sense of urgency toward improving the Hotels' revenue performance.
- To attend and represent the resort at trade shows and conventions and/or participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.
- To actively pursue potential customers for the hotel through sourcing new business and building on current relationships. This includes leading action plans, prospecting, direct sales calls and site visitations.
- To ensure the Sales processes are efficient and exceed our customers’ expectations from inquiry stage to the post event follow up.
- To be passionately curious about sourcing new opportunities of where and when we can grow our revenues.
- To prepare monthly action plans with the input of the Director, Sales&Marketing and conduct a monthly review of activity plans and key accounts.
- To coordinate the client’s needs to ensure they are being met.
- To attend and assist hotel functions when needed.
- To negotiate contracts with clients for all aspects pertaining to each client file.
- To pitch in and assist other team members to achieve the team goals and incentives.
- To understand customers, builds organizational credibility and develops new revenue sources.
- To enhance one’s own ability and the ability of other’s to contribute. Manages expenses, maximizes revenues, encourages up selling through incentives, and works at staying ahead of the competition.
- To displays a positive attitude, maintains enthusiasm and celebrates successes.
- To perform Sales & Marketing calls, attending community business functions.
- To provide guest assistance from GREAT customer service and resolving guest issues.
- To maintain rapport with clients.
- To meet sales target set in term of sale of room nights and revenue.
- To be able to travel overseas for sales calls and participate in travel fairs both local and foreign.
- To be able to strategize marketing plans to achieve sales and profit
- To work closely with reservations and front desk staff to provide excellent service to clients.
- To do administrative duties such as preparing of marketing call reports, keep track of group bookings etc.
- To handle clients feedback, complaints on all booking issues.
About you
The desired qualification for this role is at least a Bachelor degree in Hospitality, Marketing Management or Management. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and should have proven leadership skills. The candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English & French.
