About the Role
The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional treatments to the guests in line with the Hotel Brand standards while maintaining excellent client care, good hygiene, grooming and attention to details.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To be responsible for achieving retail sales targets as set by the Director, Spa.
- To ensure that aftercare recommendations are made at the end of every treatment, linking with client concerns, and offering to prepare products at the Reception for purchase.
- To encourage the clients to return to the Spa by recommending an ongoing treatment program.
- To maintain a sound knowledge of all treatments, packages, and promotions.
- To participate in demonstrations/events as required.
- To ensure daily sales figures are accurately recorded.
- To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as laid down by the Director, Spa, and the Hotel Brand standards.
- To always be on schedule and prepared in advance of treatments.
- To support all sections of the Spa, including covering reception as well as the duties of Spa Attendant, as and when required.
- To adhere to the trainings as set down by the Head Therapist and to attend all training courses, as deemed necessary.
- To perform all treatments as per the protocols and standards taught in training while tailoring to the client’s specific needs.
- To always be updated on the knowledge of the products and treatments.
- To always carry out an in-depth consultation with each client prior to treatment, ensuring the medical history and concerns are identified.
- To avoid disturbing the guest experience by moving quietly around the treatment room and corridors.
- To use the correct quantities of products, as specified by the manufacturer and not exceed that amount.
- To maintain linen and product levels in the treatment rooms by ensuring that trolleys are stocked, clean and organised as per the Spa standards.
- To correctly follow treatment room opening and closing procedures.
- To report any maintenance issues to the Head Therapist/Director, Spa.
- To consistently record guest preferences, to accurately update guest profiles and to communicate relevant information to colleagues.
- To always ensure confidentiality including medical details and any other information provided in confidentiality by the guest.
- To report any guest complaint to the Duty Manager so that they can be handled promptly and effectively.
About you
The desired qualification for this role is at least a Higher School Certificate and a Certificate in Spa/Massage Therapy. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
