About The Role
The storekeeper is responsible for sourcing, raise purchase orders; receive/issue materials, controlling, maintaining proper stock levels and follow-up on invoices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Be proactive.
- Responsible for the maintenance stores and tools provided by the hotel.
- To continuously give feedback to the Assistant Maintenance Manager on tasks pertaining to the trade.
- To make himself familiar with the buildings and areas, parts used for sourcing and ordering parts.
- To ensure that all stock levels are maintained optimally.
- To ensure that storerooms are kept clean and parts are stored in an orderly manner at all times.
- To keep records and logs of all equipment in the store.
- To ensure that all material issued is properly recorded.
- To check and ensure that materials ordered are as per purchase orders.
- To follow-up with suppliers/ purchasing for on time delivery of ordered parts.
- To provide monthly reports for materials ordered.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
- To ensure all PPE are always available in store.
- Must be familiar with fire detection systems, fire fighting and escape routes– smoke and heat detectors, call points, fire hose reels and fire hydrants.
- To attend fire alarm calls out and assists as per fire alarm procedures.
- To ensure proper communication to colleagues and superiors pertaining to store items.
- To attend week end and public holiday duties as per roster.
- To attend all morning briefings and wrap up sessions in the afternoon.
- Is expected to make himself available at any time to carry out any job outside the scope of his daily work according to the needs of the operations or intervene personally on repair and maintenance work.
- Must ensure that hotel assets are protected while performing duty.
- Must report to his unit as soon as a cyclone warning class 2 is declared and start organizing all prevention measures.
- Ensure that emergency situations are dealt with tact and solved accordingly.
- To assist works undergone by either outside contractors or in-house.
- To be able to attend phone calls and liaise with guests as per company norms.
- Should have good communication skills with other departments relating to maintenance work.
About You
The desired qualifications for this role are at least a School Certificate and a National Certificate Level 3 in any given field. The ideal candidate should at least have 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
