About the Role

The Supervisor, Beach is responsible for supervising the day-to-day beach service operation & representing the Manager, Beach or Assistant Manager, Beach  during his/her absence.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all guests are greeted, welcomed and seated in a courteous, polite and helpful manner.
  • To attend to all guests promptly.
  • To ensure that everyone is prompt and ready to work.
  • To ensure excellent condition of beach furniture at all times.
  • To ensure that fully set beach mattresses and beach loungers are provided to guests whenever guests come on the beach.
  • To ensure daily par stock level of beach linen for excellent service.
  • To ensure that guests are not disturbed during their relaxing time on the beach and to report immediately if otherwise.
  • To ensure complete privacy and discretion of guests.
  • To ensure that full closing is done at the end of the day.
  • To ensure that the beach is clean at all times and to take immediate actions if otherwise.
  • To be fully conversant with the Beach Service operation and to efficiently manage all the shifts.
  • To take a keen interest in the current business situation and to bring in sound ideas to increase profit, decrease spending, upsell orders, beach dinners and maximize guests’ expense where possible.
  • To efficiently administer and action the daily mail, guest report lists, staff schedules, leaves forms and other paperwork that is required and to ensure accurate notes are kept and are accessible.
  • To communicate with Assistant Manager, Beach/Manager, Beach on particular guests’ requirements, and to maintain a close and professional working relationship with the kitchen at all times.
  • To ensure that safety of the working environment in the department is maintained.
  • To ensure that a briefing (line up) is held on a daily basis and important events are communicated to all employees.
  • To assist the Assistant Manager, Beach/Manager, Beach by involving in all staff-related issues and to handle them in a professional manner.
  • To participate in On-The-Job training of new members of the staff and to the  newly promoted staffs also.
  • To understand the need for training and development of all individuals and to take a proactive approach in training the employees on their responsibilities regarding Fire and Bomb Safety, Health and Safety and Food Hygiene.
  • To attend meeting with the Manager, Beach/Assistant Manager, Beach on a daily basis and to cascade down all the information to the team.
  • To ensure that the operations hours are well covered at all times.
  • To ensure that inventory is carried out on a monthly basis and that the report is sent together with action plan to reduce breakages.
  • To assist the Manager, Beach/Assistant Manager, Beach in managing the weekly forecast and all the colleagues’ vacations, Refund offs, Public Holidays to ensure that the man-hour are properly and fairly carried out.
  • To ensure the compliance with Hygiene and Health and Safety legislation/guidelines.
  • To promote and market the business.
  • To oversee stock levels.
  • To order supplies.
  • To handle customer enquiries and complaints.
  • To cross-sell other Food & Beverage Outlets and Resort facilities.
  • To prepare and present staffing reports.
  • To keep statistical and financial records.
  • To produce plans to increase/maximize sales and profits.
  • To handle administration and paperwork.
  • To liaise with customers, employees, suppliers, sales representatives etc.

 

About You

The desired qualification for this role is at least a School Certificate and a National Certificate level 3 in Restaurant and Bar Service. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
