About the Role

 

The In-Room Dining (IRD) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the In-Room Dining department, ensuring exceptional guest service, timely order delivery, and adherence to luxury hospitality standards. The role involves supervising team members, maintaining service quality, coordinating with kitchen and other departments, and ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

Operational Management

  • Supervise daily In-Room Dining operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and dispatch of orders.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards.
  • Ensure all guest orders are accurately taken, prepared, and delivered within established timelines.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally.

Team Supervision

  • Lead, motivate, and support IRD team members during shifts.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational updates.
  • Train and coach colleagues on service standards, product knowledge, and guest engagement.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain Forbes, LQA, and resort service standards at all times.
  • Anticipate guest needs and create memorable dining experiences.
  • Follow up with guests after service to ensure satisfaction.
  • Personalize service based on guest preferences and special occasions.

Administrative Duties

  • Prepare shift reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure proper handling of billing and posting procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, equipment, and operating supplies.
  • Assist with scheduling and manpower planning when required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues and guests.
  • Ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed.

 

About You

 

  • Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Food & Beverage operations, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or five-star resort environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of In-Room Dining operations and guest service standards.
