About the Role

The Valet is responsible for cleaning, supplying, and providing services for guest rooms, suites, guest corridors, garden borders as per the hotel standards as well as for assisting with guest requests to always ensure guest satisfaction.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To attend duty on time, well groomed.
  • To attend daily briefing at the beginning of each shift.
  • To be fully trained on the hotel standards and procedures required to carry out daily tasks.
  • To follow the hotel’s key control policy.
  • To proceed to the Housekeeping Office to receive the task sheet for the day.
  • To use and maintain all chemicals, supplies and equipment as per the hotel standards.
  • To clean all guest corridors and garden borders pertaining to the section; to empty ashtrays; and to ensure that wet floors are dry when raining.
  • To fill pantries with necessary par level of linen.
  • To clean and replenish the linen in guest rooms as per hotel standards.
  • To clear and clean the pantry, to empty garbage as well as to bring down the soil linen.
  • To prepare the “cleaning service bag” for the next day.
  • To carry out and complete daily task control sheet.
  • To carry out and complete all daily assigned tasks as per hotel standards.
  • To report malfunctioning tools, incidents, and guest room issues correctly to the supervisor as per the hotel standards.
  • To report lost and found articles as per the hotel standards.
  • To report in-room safe issues as per the hotel standards and policies.
  • To report unusual guest behavior or activities as per the hotel standards.
  • To have thorough knowledge of the layout of the guest rooms and corridors, and all the Housekeeping storage spaces with what they hold.
  • To always follow the hotel’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • To attend training when required by the department and the hotel.
  • To work as scheduled to a rotating roster which includes morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts; this will also include weekends and public holidays (as per Mauritian Law).

 

About you

The desired qualification for this role is at least a School Certificate and a National Certificate Level 3 in Housekeeping. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
