Job Summary
The storekeeper is responsible for the maintenance of all storerooms, performing activities such as stocking of operational materials and supplies, inventory control and records, purchasing, and related duties as required. Reports the required information on the appropriate documents and in the computerized system. Ensures all merchandise is properly stored, makes issues from the storerooms based on received requisitions and captures this in the computerized systems. Works closely with the Receiving – General Finance Clerk and assists the Procurement Officer when needed.
- Ensure accuracy of the facility’s inventory system by updating records of physical inventory totals, receipts, adjustments, and returns
- Ensure that stock received by receiving clerk is properly stored and recorded
- Issues stock from stores promptly to departments based on received requisitions
- Manage inventory/supplies and ensure they are within the established minimum and maximum levels
- Keep up-to-date records of receipts, records, and withdrawals from the stockroom
- Responsible for packing, pricing, labeling, and returning supplies
- Responsible for stock rotation and coordinate the disposal of surpluses
- Oversee the handling of freight, the movement of equipment, and minor repairs
- Create purchase orders for stock replenishment items

- Basic knowledge of accounting
- Interpersonal, organizational and strong administrative skills
- Strong communication skills
- Good business acumen
- Computer literate
