About the Job

The Assistant Golf Professional plays a key frontline role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for members and resort guests. This highly member-focused position serves as a primary liaison for tee times, bookings, and daily play, while supporting the Golf Operations Manager in the coordination and execution of daily operations and events.

This is a hands-on, guest-facing role that requires strong service orientation, sound golf expertise, and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the club community. The Assistant Golf Professional supports instructional programming, tournament operations, scoring, and actively enhances member engagement through consistent on-course presence.

Key Responsibilities
Member Liaison & Daily Operations

Serve as a primary point of contact for members regarding tee times, bookings, daily play inquiries, and special requests.

Manage tee sheet accuracy and member communications.

Support daily operations alongside the Golf Operations Manager and Supervisor.

Oversee pace of play, coordinate starters and marshals, and ensure smooth on-course flow.

Deliver a consistently professional and welcoming experience.
Member Programs & Engagement

Coordinate and assist with member programs such as Ladies Morning, Men’s Day, and regular member play days.

Build relationships through active visibility and engagement, including playing with members when appropriate.

Contribute to member satisfaction, retention, and a strong club community environment.
Tournaments, Scoring & Rules

Assist in planning and execution of tournaments and club events.

Manage scoring, results processing, and provide rules interpretation support.

Serve as an on-course resource to ensure fair play and smooth competition execution.
Instruction & Junior Programming

Provide occasional individual and group instruction aligned with club standards.

Support the Director of Instruction with clinics and coaching programs.

Lead weekly kids-only golf sessions for resort guests.

Promote junior development and family-oriented golf experiences.
Retail & Pro Shop Support

Assist with Pro Shop operations during peak periods.

Support merchandise presentation and POS transactions.

Maintain a professional and organized retail environment.
Teamwork & Professional Standards

Collaborate closely with the golf operations team.

Support training of starters, marshals, and golf services staff as needed.

Uphold all club policies, safety standards, and brand expectations.

Represent the club professionally at all times.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a golf club environment.

Strong knowledge of golf operations, tournaments, and competitive formats.

Excellent golf playing ability.

Experience using Golf Genius tournament software.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Bilingual Spanish / English preferred.

Service-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
