About the Job 

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the daily operation of guestrooms and turndown service, ensuring a strong floor presence, consistent follow-up on daily priorities, and compliance with cleanliness, presentation, and service standards. 

This role is primarily responsible for supporting the supervisory team, resolving immediate operational needs, covering supervisory functions when required, and escalating any situation that may impact guest experience or room readiness to the Housekeeping Manager in a timely manner. 

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational flow, reinforcing luxury service standards, supporting team development, and ensuring effective communication between Housekeeping and other operational departments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on and service-driven hospitality professional with strong operational awareness and attention to detail. You thrive in a fast-paced luxury environment, enjoy working closely with operational teams, and lead by example through accountability, organization, and teamwork. 

You are proactive, approachable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction. Strong communication skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to support and motivate teams on the floor are essential for success in this role. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Follow up on the daily guestrooms and turndown operation on the floor.  

  • Support supervisors in executing daily priorities, arrivals, departures, and VIP preparations.  

  • Verify housekeeping progress and inspection status throughout the day.  

  • Cover guestrooms or turndown supervisory functions when operationally required.  

  • Inspect selected guestrooms to validate cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with standards.  

  • Follow up on immediate operational pending items related to guestrooms, turndown service, and guest requests.  

  • Support daily communication with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and Guest Services departments.  

  • Ensure maintenance reports, discrepancies, and operational tickets are properly followed up.  

  • Work closely with the operational team on the floor to reinforce standards, attention to detail, and service culture.  

  • Support daily task distribution, operational coverage, and staffing needs.  

  • Report operational progress, critical pending items, and areas of opportunity to the Housekeeping Manager.  

  • Provide immediate coaching and support to room attendants and supervisors when needed.  

  • Reinforce punctuality, grooming standards, operational discipline, and compliance with procedures.  

  • Support the execution of action plans, internal audits, and follow-up on guest feedback.  

  • Maintain clear and constant communication to ensure operational continuity during the shift.  

  • Matters related to unionized employees must initially be addressed with the corresponding supervisor. If additional follow-up or resolution is required, situations should be escalated to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager and subsequently to the Housekeeping Manager when necessary.  

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • 2 to 3 years of Housekeeping experience, preferably as a Supervisor, Coordinator, or similar position.  

  • Intermediate to basic English proficiency required.  

  • Luxury hospitality experience preferred.  

  • Knowledge of Forbes and LQA standards preferred.  

  • Experience in room inspections and operational floor follow-up.  

  • Ability to organize priorities and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.  

  • Strong communication skills with supervisors, room attendants, and other departments.  

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance reports, checklists, amenity inventories, supplies, and linen controls.  

  • Strong operational leadership, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and guest service focus.
