About the Job

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Laundry Department, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, sustainability, and service excellence. This role ensures that all hotel linens, uniforms, guest laundry, and F&B textiles are processed according to One&Only Palmilla standards while maximizing operational efficiency, controlling costs, and supporting the property's environmental commitments.

The Laundry Supervisor leads and develops the team, ensures equipment functionality, oversees chemical and inventory controls, and promotes sustainable practices aligned with EarthCheck certification requirements. Through effective planning, quality control, and collaboration with other departments, this position contributes to delivering an exceptional luxury experience for both guests and colleagues.

About You

You are a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience supervising laundry operations within luxury hospitality environments. You possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to operational excellence, and a passion for delivering exceptional quality standards.

You understand the importance of linen care, resource management, sustainability initiatives, and team development. You lead by example, foster a positive working environment, and ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and service standards consistent with the One&Only brand philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Laundry Department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.

  • Review and monitor departmental logbooks, ensuring all pending items are followed up and completed promptly.

  • Ensure all team members maintain the highest standards of personal grooming, hygiene, appearance, and professionalism.

  • Verify the proper operation of laundry equipment and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance when required.

  • Monitor chemical inventory levels and ensure proper operation of automatic dosing systems to maintain wash quality and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure all linens, uniforms, guest laundry, and textiles are processed according to established procedures for each fabric type, color, and textile composition.

  • Conduct quality inspections of washed, dried, pressed, folded, and distributed items to ensure they meet One&Only Palmilla standards.

  • Plan and schedule labor resources according to occupancy forecasts, operational demands, and business needs.

  • Coordinate team assignments to maximize productivity and maintain service levels across the property.

  • Assist with inventory counts of linens, uniforms, and F&B textiles, maintaining accurate records and stock control.

  • Monitor laundry production reports, productivity metrics, and operational costs to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Promote responsible use of water, energy, chemicals, and consumables, supporting sustainability objectives and cost management initiatives.

  • Support and ensure compliance with EarthCheck standards and environmental sustainability programs implemented throughout the resort.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, resource conservation, and service excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and chemical handling regulations and procedures.

  • Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance performance, technical skills, and service standards.

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other operational departments.

  • Support the achievement of Forbes Travel Guide, LQA, and One&Only brand standards through consistent execution and attention to detail.

  • Contribute to creating a culture of luxury service, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Technical studies or certification related to Laundry Operations, Hospitality, Housekeeping, or Business Administration preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in Laundry Operations within a luxury hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.

  • Experience managing large-scale linen, uniform, and textile operations.

  • Previous experience working within Forbes, LQA, EarthCheck, or other luxury hospitality standards is preferred.
