Job Summary 

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator position is a critical role in our integrated communications strategy. In this role, you will work directly with the Public Relations Director and the Marketing Director to create and execute strategies for One&Only Palmilla. You will be responsible for generating awareness for the resort through earned and owned channels, while developing strategies to increase web traffic and consumer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing and digital strategies. You will work with the leadership team to develop communications to external and internal audiences, provide strategic and tactical communications planning and advice, and implement communication solutions to meet brand and reputation goals.  

 

This role is also responsible for developing resort events and programming, while transforming those initiatives and activities into compelling messages by creating and executing creative marketing campaigns and communications strategies to raise awareness and increase engagement. The position must be able to contribute in creating a strong team dynamic while balancing the workload across the team. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to: 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support implementation and execution of all guest and consumer facing leisure sales & marketing initiatives and collateral materials. 

  • Work with a cross-departmental teams to develop resort events, happenings and guest programming activities. 

  • Responsible for the development of all resort, spa, and golf promotional materials for print and digital distribution. Including versions in English, Spanish and other languages as required.  

  • Oversee local, regional, national and international marketing and advertising to create awareness of resort and events.  

  • Manage external and internal communications related to promotional campaigns, special events, collateral, brochures, etc. 

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the online content marketing across all digital channels. 

  • Responsible for graphic design, content development, copy-writing and copyediting. 

  • Prepare creative briefs to define marketing objectives and guide creative development. 

  • Collaborate with agencies, freelancers, partners, media, and other vendor partners. 

  • Oversee print production processes and ensure of quality standards.  

  • Author and publish internal communication materials including global and country specific communications and announcements, project-based communications, internal newsletters, meeting minutes, and executive and/or business level presentations. 

  • Actively support and evolve the organization’s communication, branding and business strategies. 

  • Manage the overall image and presentation of the brand throughout the resort and materials.  

  • Manage on-going property photo and video shoots to capture content for marketing channels that meet brand standards 

  • Responsible for managing master image library, logos, assets and other intellectual property. 

  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas to execute specific marketing plans for revenue outlets within hotel. 

  • Assist in the planning and execution of all resort and corporate marketing efforts. 

  • Maintain and control of the intellectual property and trademark of the resorts and One&Only Resorts brand. 

  • Assist with resort media and influencer visits, maintaining relationships with local, regional, national and international media and influencers. 

  • Vet and manage incoming influencer requests with educated recommendations, supported by relevant Campaign insights. 

  • Manage promotional editorial opportunities with media partners, while keeping track of monthly content calendars (e.g. InMexico, Ocean Blue World). 

  • Maintain press clip folders and distribute press coverage and influencer visit recap reports to internal team. 

  • Manage award survey promotions and strategies, accolade announcements and awards list. 

  • Create and manage content strategy plan for Google My Business. 

  • Monitor social media channels and foster community engagement across all platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Instagram). 

  • Work closely with social media agency of record to plan and develop nimble, visual content for the resort’s social media channels, while overseeing and providing thorough feedback on monthly content calendars. 

  • Generate original content for social media through professional photography, when required. 

  • Oversee development, execution and optimization of all social media advertising efforts.  

  • Continuously research media marketing trends and new potential channels to identify opportunities to connect the public with our brand and resort programs, while sharing key insights/learnings with the team. 

  • Participate with Director of Marketing & Sales, Director of Public Relations and Marketing Director on the preparation of the annual corporate Marketing Plan. 

  • Submit weekly, monthly and recap reports on ongoing and special projects.  

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and employees in other departments. 

  • All other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing and Sales, Director of Public Relations and Marketing Director. 

 

SKILLS 

  • Proven work experience in marketing, communications and social media with demonstrated success 

  • 1-2 years of professional, relevant experience in-house or agency 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability of engaging audiences 

  • Academic background with Bachelor’s degree in marketing, new media, or relevant field 

  • Organized and able to handle multiple projects at once 

  • Capacity to adapt quickly 

  • Ability to remain calm and positive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and think of short-and long-term ROI 

  • Must be a team player and be able to work outside business hours and bank holidays 

  • Ability to make manager-level decisions and work with minimal supervision 

  • Hospitality experience preferred
