About the Role

 

The Assistant Manager IT Operations shared services is responsible for ensuring the smooth and 24/7 operation of all line of business applications across SIRO, Boka Place and Private Homes. Works independently with direction from the Manager of IT. Provide guidance to the IT Operations team in relation to requests, incidents and problems. Executes tasks and projects as requested by management in accordance with best practices and company policies

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage installations of, maintain and support all cluster applications and IT infrastructure
  • Provides 2nd level guest support and support of guest facing areas.
  • Provide a 24/7 2nd level support for all major systems complex-wide, manages incidents and services requests in conjunction with the Service Desk team.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and trend analysis in relation to incidents and services requests, work closely with IT peers and vendors to develop solutions.
  • Proactively monitors systems, patch management, AV updates, and management of IT tickets.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining System Backups documenting, reporting and remediation of failures.
  • Act as an IT subject matter expert on all IT Applications best practices, provide technical and best-practice guidance to other IT team members. Shares knowledge and skills amongst the team as appropriate.
  • Develop and build meaningful working relationships with key business stakeholders to promote IT and share internal processes.  Using various channels, communicates IT support initiatives and tools to the business.
  • Participate in the research and selection of best in its field IT Hospitality Hardware/Software to minimize risk and increase efficiency and speed.

 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

 

  • 3-5 years operational experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work under pressure, flexible and can manage multiple tasks.
  • Reporting Skills, Administrative Writing Skills, Microsoft Office Skills, Managing Processes, Organization, Analyzing Information, Professionalism, Problem Solving, Scheduling staff, Inventory Control and Verbal Communication.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of application support across hospitality solutions and integrations. (Opera PMS, Simphony, Hotsos, HSIA etc..). Hands on knowledge of Microsoft products and platforms Office 365, Microsoft Windows server and desktop technology’s, Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds. MCSE Certification or equivalent.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Thorough understanding of IT security concepts and principles.
  • Experience with Ethernet networking, LAN/WAN network technologies, the OSI model, TCP/IP, switching, routing, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Veem Backup and VMWare.
  • Experience administering Windows Server Infrastructure.
  • College/University educated or Bachelor of Information Systems preferable.
