Job Summary
The Fitness Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the fitness center, assisting guests with their workout routines, and ensuring that all equipment is in proper working order. This role involves providing excellent customer service, monitoring the safety of gym users, and supporting the overall wellness experience for hotel guests. The Fitness Attendant plays a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for guests of all fitness levels.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Assistance:
- Greet guests as they enter the gym, providing information on equipment usage, fitness classes, and other wellness services.
- Assist guests with basic exercise routines and demonstrate the correct usage of gym equipment.
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests, ensuring a positive and motivating experience.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure that all gym equipment is clean, sanitized, and properly arranged throughout the day.
- Conduct regular inspections of fitness equipment to identify and report any maintenance issues.
- Restock towels, water, and other amenities, ensuring that the gym is fully equipped at all times.
- Safety Monitoring:
- Observe gym users to ensure they are following safety guidelines and using equipment correctly.
- Provide immediate assistance in the event of an emergency, following hotel protocols.
- Educate guests on proper gym etiquette and enforce rules to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Administrative Support:
- Manage gym reservations, including equipment and personal training sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and guest feedback.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and organizing fitness supplies.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the fitness team to support group classes, personal training sessions, and special wellness events.
- Provide feedback to the Fitness lab reception, recovery manager, and the fitness director on guest preferences and any suggestions for improving the gym experience.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to stay informed about new fitness trends and equipment.
- Maintain and clean guest room, suite, corridor, and pantries according to SIRO Standards.
- Make notes, collect, and action on any guest requests and preferences.
- Ensure all interactions with guests are in a professional and polite manner.
- Ensure the Lost and Found procedures are always adhered.
- Ensure supplies, amenities, linens, and refreshment center are replenished as per standard.
- Ensure the guest room linen is well looked after.
- Update guest room status upon completion of service.
- Always keep work areas neat and tidy and stocked according to the levels required.
- Keep the pantry neat and in good order.
- The ability to maintain hygienic & safe work practices.
- The ability to take ownership in assigned areas of preventative maintenance programs and ensure the work and cleanliness is to the highest possible standards and that it is completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all defects are reported immediately and follow up to ensure they have been completed in a timely manner.
- Provide bed decorations and bath ceremonies when required.
- Ensure all furniture and fixtures are free of dust.
- Expiry dates are checked regularly and refilled in advance of expiry.
- Ensure all cutleries and glassware in the guest room and suite are refreshed as per standard.
- Assist in new colleague job skill training as and when requested by the superiors.
- Report anything not functioning properly, broken, stolen or anything related to the Housekeeping Team Leader.
- Report valuables displayed in the room to Housekeeping Supervisor and Security immediately.
- Report incidents and guest complaints to Housekeeping Team Leader.
- Ensure that the task provided daily are executed to the expectation of SIRO Boka Place standards.
- Attends and participates in team events.
- Coordinate for Laundry pick-up and delivery if required.
- Participates in required training and briefings related to the job.
- To effectively communicate and maintain a favorable working relationship with colleagues at all levels.
- Always ensure a professional attitude towards guests and colleagues.
- Ensure to always meet Grooming and Hygiene policy of SIRO Boka Place when in uniform.
- Assist in other tasks in the department & Hotel when requested by Team Leader or Manager
