Job Summary
Responsible for the overall maintenance of hotel buildings and assets, infrastructure, hardscape and softscape components, systems and equipment. The role oversees two properties based in Montenegro and reports to the Cluster General Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs the engineering team and its operations.
- Provides effective solutions to technical issues.
- Ability to plan and strategies across all technical genres.
- To study asset performance results, identifying, recommending, and implementing potential improvements of technical systems and facilities.
- Owns Fire Life & Safety systems and ensures functionality and integrity.
- Leads key projects optimizing service performance and efficiencies.
- Implement and monitors local and legal regulations, standards, and applicable legislation.
- Produce and manage preventive maintenance activities and submit proposals for improvements.
- Performance testing on technical services as required, ensuring efficiencies and performance.
- Creates and manages budgets, allocates resources according to management and departmental priorities.
- Drives and manages all maintenance contracts and contractors activities.
- Leads CAPEX project planning and budgeting.
- Provides coaching and counselling, assesses employee performance, and identifies training requirements.
- To liaise with the Cluster General Manager whilst ensuring effective communications at all levels.
- Ensures report deadlines are met and that employees remain informed of any relevant issues.
- Attends and participates in meetings as required.
- Liaise with all employees on maintenance/facilities related issues.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with external suppliers and other organizations.
- Delegates effectively and as necessary.
- Leads the sustainability platform.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- A suitable technical qualification to Degree level
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills
- Strong technical background and experience within the hospitality sector preferred
- Excellent Customer Service skills required to work with guests, employees and external parties
- Fluent in English language (spoken and written)
- Computer literate
