About the role

 

A hostess or host welcomes guests upon arrival at SIRO Table Restaurant, manages reservations and seating arrangements, distributes menus, and ensures guests are settled comfortably. They also handle phone inquiries and collaborate closely with the Culinary and Beverage teams to uphold SIRO service standards, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Greeting guests as they arrive and managing waiting lists when needed.
  • Providing menus and answering any initial questions from guests.
  • Escorting guests to their tables or designated waiting areas.
  • Managing seating to optimize table rotation and ensure even distribution among servers.
  • Engaging with guests to ensure satisfaction with service and food.
  • Addressing and resolving guest complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Answering phone calls, handling reservations, and providing information about the restaurant and menu.
  • Maintaining a solid knowledge of the restaurant menu.
  • Assisting colleagues across other roles in the restaurant when needed.
  • Consistently delivering excellent customer service.
  • Performing any other tasks assigned by management.

 

 

Experience, skills & educational requirements

 

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous workplace training in a high-standard hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Solid understanding of catering operations and beverage service standards.
  • Experience in a 5-star or upscale resort environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the 7ROOMS reservation system is highly preferred and considered a strong asset for this role.
