Job Summary

The Washerman, Laundry is responsible for expertly handling the washing process of laundry items, ensuring that all items are cleaned to the highest standard. This role involves using various washing techniques, stain removers, detergents, and chemicals effectively. The Laundry Washer Man reports directly to the Team Leader Laundry and collaborates closely with the Laundry Sorter and Attendant to maintain operational excellence in our laundry services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently load and unload commercial washer extractors, with the ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
• Apply appropriate washing techniques for different types of fabrics and stains.
• Use stain removers and other chemicals to treat stained items before washing.
• Select and use the correct washing detergent and chemicals for various types of laundry.
• Regularly check machines for proper functioning and report any faults to the Team Leader immediately.
• Inspect washed items to ensure they meet quality standards and report any items not efficiently cleaned.
• Check the pockets of all items ensure any valuable or object are removed before loading the washer.
• Ensure all valet laundry items have a valid bill before processing and verify the accuracy of customer bills.
• Record the quantity of all bulk laundry items processed in the commercial laundry unit.
• Adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the washing area to uphold hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and maintain operational efficiency.
• Follow Lost and Found procedures diligently, documenting and securely storing all found items, and reporting them to management.
• Assist in training new colleagues and participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and washing techniques.
• Present yourself professionally and address clients and colleagues in a polite and respectful manner.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the superiors to support laundry operations.
• Act as a best runner to support the colleagues in the valet laundry team as well as commercial laundry.
• Report incidents and guest complaints promptly to the superiors.
• Ensure that daily tasks are executed to the highest standards of established laundry service.
• Attend and actively participate in team events, required training sessions, and job-related briefings
• Effectively communicate and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels. 
• Be motivated to transfer knowledge and promote a continuously positive work environment.
• Maintain a consistently professional attitude towards guests and colleagues alike.
• Demonstrate flexibility in work timing and schedule to accommodate operational demands effectively; willing to work extra hours to cover the workload as directed by the superios.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or related field is a plus.
• Fluent in the local language, spoken & written English, any other foreign language is a plus factor
• Must be skilled to perform the job of a Washerman, Laundry. 
• A minimum of 2 years of job experience with wet cleaning machines and stain removal processes.
